they looked a little better tonight and got the win...I am happy as long as they keep winning. The schedule is about to get real tough.

If Clark and Ellis are the ones with 5 TO combined...and Caupain, KJ, and Cobb combine for 2...we'll win a lot of games.

But not if Caupain, KJ, and Cobb combine for 3 assists like they did tonight. That is not good.

I got heat a couple games ago for saying I was disappointed in Caupain's play even though he had 6 assists and zero turnovers. His assists were from passing it on the perimeter and Cobb nailing 3's...which is fine, but he needs to be more assertive and drive the lane and find the open guy. Tonight you'd hardly even know he was on the floor.

Very efficient game. Not sure why there are so many complaints. UC shot 44% from the field, 37% from the three, 74% from the ft line, outrebounded them 33-15 (offensively 14-4), Had 2 guys in double digits, 3 more with 9, starting frontcourt had 23 points and 16 rebounds (9 offensive) 6 blocks 4 assists. But to read some comments you'd think nothing good happened. It never ceases to amaze me.

12 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.7 apg, 2.7 tpg. He does need to be more assertive but he is playing a starting role and having to be a leader for the first time with a completely different team. I think he's doing fine and will only get better as the season goes on but there is room for growth.

You'd have to have your head in the sand not to understand why some people aren't happy with the performance. All those "good" things yet they struggle to beat a crap team by 9 and don't even score 60 points. They've played four cupcakes so far and in three of them they haven't even reached 60 points. I'm not writing off this team by any means, but if you aren't in the least bit concerned than you must be watching a different team.

I thought they played an efficient game, they looked much better moving the ball. Still some issues getting it inside. I'm actually surprised they didn't break 60 today. Not watching the scoreboard I would've guessed they were upper 60s. Its just the pace of the game is what will keep the score low when they play well on offense. Watch some acc games, its run and gun, don't know the possession numbers but I would bet UCs pts per possession are similar to other teams.

Good post. I was overall happy withthe game. Different game, different players stepped up. Just like Coach said how it would be. I brought my uncle in law to the game who doesn't follow UC at all and he was impressed with what he saw. Big thing he noticed was our length and size. Shot blocking and rebounding are going to be solid for us for awhile. It was nice to watch the game with a neutral college basketball fan lol.

10.5 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2.8 apg, 2 tpg....fyi

I do agree though, lots of room for growth and I'm still really high on him. I just hope it happens sooner rather than later.

Even though the score was close, it felt like they were in control the whole game. They even pulled away in the end. How many times in the past would previous teams struggle to close out games b/c of poor free throw shooting and not being able to handle full court pressure? What fun is it to constantly think about the negatives? Sure I would love to see better offense and a dominating Shaq, but I'm not going to dwell on it. Instead I'll embrace a beast mode frontcourt and a*sophomore PG who by end of the year could easily average 14-5-5, and a defense that leads the nation once again.

He needs to be more aggressive offensively. It is the same problem Clark is having at the moment. Both need to just look at the rim sometimes!

Amen! Couldn't agree more. We have guards that should be able to get to the rim and get fouled. They need to be aggressive. Don't avoid contact and get fouled!
