From the side camera, that ball has zero chance and looks wide right. It even looks like the ball passed the rim.

The aerial camera looks much different.

But the bigger part of the rule is, the ball had zero chance of going in. Therefore, its not goaltending.

The guest official says it was a good call but he isn't sounding very definitive

The call hangs on if the ball had a chance to go in. The official thought it did but it looked wide right to me. The key is the call was not reviewable.

Not to mention the ref who called it was probably in the worst position out of the 3 refs to make the call.

The key to me is the ref that made the call had NO WAY of making that call. He cannot tell the angle of the ball from where he's at. He has no clue if the ball has any chance of touching the rim or not. The ref with the dead on angle let it go.

So UCLA vs UAB? Of course! It is funny that last night we were saying how hard the region was to figure out.

Exactly what I said. All he could see was the SMU jump and touch the ball. Honestly from his position it probably did look like a goaltend.

It probably did look like it from his angle, but he's got to realize the ref with the correct angle thought it was wide.

Completely agree. That ref can not make that call.

The ref underneath has other things to watch under the hoop. He can't just stand there and watch the ball. That call is so freaking hard. I think the guy that made the call was the only one actually tracking the shot. Nothing abnormal about that. Super tough call.

What? The guy to make the call was the guy standing directly behind the guy that shot. He has the perfect angle. He did not make a call. It was the one that had no angle on the ball at all.
