They shoot 3s worse then we do lol I don't see us scoring much against Tennessee defense though.

LOL

You realize that stats do not back up this statement at all right?

Tennesee 3pt%: 38.1% (48th in the country)
UC: 35.4% (140th in the country)

In fact, this years team was Cronin's best shooting team for most of the season from 3, but now last years team has inched ahead of this years team.

I don't mean the actual stats, I meant how they were shooting the right after you said they were good. They clanked like 7 3s in a row and went like 0-10 shooting for a stretch.

That doesn't surprise me at all though given how we've shot the 3 over the past 4 or 5 games.

Ok.

I hope that UC and UK are 2 high majors to survive out of this bracket because so far its been all mid majors.

9 point lead for Loyola.

If we can get past Nevada I think we match up better against Loyola so I'm not sad about them winning.

I just thought it was hilarious that some one told me not to judge a team on the first 6 minutes and then the very next comment is making a season long judgement on a single game.

of the teams on this side of the bracket, we are the worst shooting team, and the rest are borderline elite.

3 point %
Loyola: 40% (14th)
Tenneesee: 38% (46TH)
Nevada: 39.7% (18th)
UC: 35% (140th)

That said, also in our Pod is some of the best 3 point defense in the whole country.

opp 3pt %:
Loyola: 32.7% (43rd)
Tenneesee: 31.5% (14th)
Nevada: 31.6% (18th)
UC: 30.9% (7th)

Now not all 3 point % defense is created equal since it really depends on how well the teams in your conference shoot from deep:

Here are how the conferences stack up in shooting:
MWC: 36% (7th best out of 32)
SEC: 34% (28th best out of 32)
MVC: 35% (27th best out of 32)
AAC: 35% (25th best out of 32)

So I would clearly say UC and Nevada have almost identical 3 point defenses and the game will come down to who can make contested shots and score in the paint. UC protects the paint only 2nd to one team in the country, so if it becomes a war of 2 point shots, we have the advantage on every team in our pod

But I was saying it as a joke lol

It is possible if we win tomorrow that Nevada will be the highest seeded opponent we will have to beat on our way to the final four. In the worst case scenario as things stand we will have to beat a five seed in Kentucky to make the final four but it is possible tomorrow is our toughest game till Xavier.

Houston passing up shots to go inside and get Michigan’s big men in foul trouble. Refs are not cooperating.

Xavier has to get by Gonzaga and possibly North Carolina before they get to the Final Four, and both of those teams are at least as good as Xavier. I think it would be pretty sweet if Houston got to the Elite Eight and knocked Xavier out of the tournament. As fun as it would be to dispatch Xavier in their first Final Four appearance, I would rather them never get that far.

just a brutal loss for Houston. Davis made his first 8 free throws of the game. Missed 3 of 4 in the final minute.

No foul by Butler. Smh. Would've been 1 and 1. College teams and clock management.

Ithink fouling in the tournament is the answer, seen a lot of missed free throws when the pressure is on. Houston comes to mind. I would foul on a heart beat, while I would try to put the opposite teams worst free throw shooter at the line, it has shown historically it doesn't matter who goes. A ton of nerves in the last second freebies.
