This is one of the first years I am not feeling like we got the raw end of the deal. I think we could have got placed anywhere and I would have my doubts. I think this will be a fun game to watch and I hope we play some good ball. On a side note, GT got a really easy draw to the sweet 16 but they have under performed in the tourney. O$U got an easy draw too IMO.

Really? I thought we had a very good draw in the 1st round the last two years. This year, not so much. We have to find a way to play great defense without fouling, as well as score 60+.
Wow, you are real Nostradamus. It easy to pick the cats to win every game, and then say I am great at predictions as I was correct 2/3 of the time. 67 % is a horrible prediction rate. Well the last two years we were a much better seed (6) while this year we didn't deserve it. You gotta be happy with a 10 seed rather than a 8/9.Really? Even though Creighton can score, they've been pretty inconsistent. I do think we match up pretty well against them, mainly because of our physicality. The more I read about them, the more I like UCs chances.
If they make it past Creighton, Duke will blow us out because they are a good passing team and have bigs that can score inside and hit midrange jumpers. Exactly our weaknesses.

I'm just talking about teams that we matchup with, not the seed. Our defense is going to make it very tough for Creighton, but I have feeling they are going to live at the line. One of the best FT shooting teams in the country.

The general concensus on that board is that they got screwed on their seed and that McDermott can't be guarded by any Bearcat.

I'm just talking about teams that we matchup with, not the seed. Our defense is going to make it very tough for Creighton, but I have feeling they are going to live at the line. One of the best FT shooting teams in the country.
I hear ya. With all due respect they are nothing that we haven't faced this year. UC will def need to get some scoring from someone who isn't part of the three amigos to have a chance to win. If we are fortunate enough to beat Creighton, that Duke matchup will be rough in every aspect. But crazier things have happened in March.

I think Kilpatrick and Rubles will do a decent job on him...I'm more worried about their overall offensive efficiency. I think we have to press, get them out of rhythm, and so we can get out and run. Their defense sucks, which will help our sucky offense not suck so bad.

Haha I love it. I automatically thought "I bet Creighton was pissed" when they saw us for their opponent. As far as guarding McDermott, that will be very tough. But he is a tough matchup for any team. I confident in our coaches, they will come up with a good strategy for us to win the game. The big question is, will the players actually execute the game plan?

I get what you are saying. We've played a number of teams this year better than Creighton. I just really worry about them getting free point from the line. That's the kryptonite of a great half court defense.. easy points, whether it be in transition or from the line.
Great contrast in styles. This seems like one of the games they'd want in primetime.

Like 1st round match up. I think we beat Creighton. Then it depends if Duke is knocking down their jumpers. I think we have a punchers chance in round 2.

I'm not sure we will even beat Creighton because of their offensive efficiency (best FG percentage in the nation). I sense a Notre Dame like game where you'd think our defense would overwhelm them but they move the ball and drop three pointers.
