UC will not be in the Top 3 by beating Marshall, XU, Wright State, and New Mexico. Anyone who thinks so either knows very little about college basketball or has his head so far up MC's rectum that his judgement is clouded (or browned).

Option 3: Mentally deranged (see source)

They will be top 5 at worst.

I haven't been a part of this forum for too long, but I'm starting to notice all you do is have opinions about things and basically copy and paste them over and over.

Bingo. Since the mods won't ban him, I have tried spreading the word to just completely ignore him.

As long as schools like Duke, Indiana and OSU keep winning UC has no shot at the top 3. Brand alone will keep them out.

If Cincinnati ends the OOC undefeated they will be ranked in the top 5 or 6, schools ahead of UC will lose leaving that void. When you start the season ranked it is much easier to move into the top 10 by simply not losing. Remember in '04 when UC got to #4 just by being undefeated (they then got destroyed by Louisville at Freedom Hall).

I believe we started the year unranked in the coaches though.

Absolutely not. I am great with my predictions. I add lots of substance and am viciously attacked by some who are jealous and bitter about me decimating their arguments.

If he added anything of substance, your head would explode trying to understand it.
You are the one that thought uc played terrible when they had 21 steals and won by nearly 40. Talk about not adding substance! You probably still hate mick and spite the remarkable job he's done here in such a short time. News flash Huggins is gone! He's GONE. We have to move together as a fan base and support this national championship contender mick has right now!

Mick is such a great coach and needs to be supported more. People complain, but it is virtually the same strategy Huggins used and it has been our strategy 20+ years. Awesome defense, horrible ft shooting, cold spells on offense followed by times when we are on fire, and have gritty and tough teams. Huggs and Mick both thrive at getting raw athletes and turning them into really good players. The constant complaining gets old-do the bad ft shooting and offense (at times) bother me, yes. But there is so much that this team is good at and they are winning early season games that they would've lost in years past-the most exciting part is that the haven't even come close to reaching their full potential yet. Plus, we don't have to hear "score the basketball" anymore-it always bothered me when Huggs would say this. No shit, Bob, what else are you gonna score? Cronin gives a much better press conference and is way better at handling players-he has kicked out trouble makers, has an infinitely higher graduation rate, and all the players really like him. I went to a Bob Huggins practice once, and I had to get out my dictionary of cuss words-I'm pretty sure he used every one of them.

My soapbox for the day.

I think Mick is still allowing a lot of "free-wheeling" right now to get guys confident in scoring. He is putting up with turnovers, poor decisions, and being out of position in favor of agression for now. There will come a time when he has to dial this back a bit...but for now he's giving his kids the opportunity to have a little bit more freedom on the court to gain confidence. He's letting them learn and finding teaching moments to go over on video with each player.

As long as they are winning we can handle a few extra TO's. What has me a bit concerned is FT's right now. Especially Parker. He has been laying some bricks there and I think he is thinking a little too much. You watch SK...he has a routine and once he's gone through it...it won't take him long to release. Some of these guys are thinking too much rather than letting their years and years of BB instincts take over. Parker is shooting 40% plus at the 3 line because he doesn't have as much time to think about it. Simplify the FT routine and don't take as long looking at the bucket...once you look up be ready to release...it's much more natural.

This is an old article but it speaks to the importance of the national ranking as it relates to recruiting and establishing a winning brand. Here's a Cronin quote fromt the article:

“As a recruit, your friends are going to think you’re a whole lot cooler if you’re going to a brand-name school,” Cronin said. “The more we win, the more we become one of those programs. We don’t have to fight that in recruiting as much now.

“We don’t have to overcome the fact that we’re not in the Lunchroom Club.”

You have no idea what you are talking about. I am not Ralph

You are so full of b.s Ralph. You and your other ego post replies within seconds of one another. Both of your ids have the same grammar characteristics as well. This could be a great site for fans to visit if it was not for your need for attention. Do us all a favor and get a decent hobby.

Jay Williams on ESPN said he wasn't impressed with uc because they haven't played anybody! Is that true?

If he did that's idiotic. Sure we haven't played a top 10 team or anything, but Oregon & Iowa State (neutral), Alabama, and @ Marshall isn't a bad crop. Bama is dealing with injuries and have lost the past couple, but Oregon looks to be the real deal. Marshall @ Marshall isn't easy and of course Iowa State will finish top half of the Big 12. Maybe when we beat down Xavier and beat New Mexico we'll get a little respect...but it wouldn't shock me if we don't.
