I like that line up too but think Rubles will start at PF to begin the season. I hope Mick plays the young guys early and often. They will be needed.

trouble with that line up is who boards and JDIII has never run the point. GG will run PG if new comer doesn't beat him out. Also Rubles will be a big contributor this year especially on the glass.

If JDIII could handle PG, and everyone I list would up their defensive games.........the offensive lineup I'd like to see is the following:

PG JDIII - So. (redshirt)
SG Kilpatrick - Sr.
SF Thomas - So. (redshirt)
PF Lawrence Fr. (more like a second SF)
C Strickland Fr.

I love quoting myself. Just kidding.

PG - JDIII, and then mix in Guyn and Caupain to gain them experience
SG - S K, slide JDIII over when the others play PG, and give KJ and Morman a few minutes here and there to gain experience.
SF - Thomas, with Sanders backing him up.
PF - Lawrence, but you know you'll see JJ and Rubles here more.
C - Strickland, but his D won't be up to par.

Anyone got the OOC schedule next year? If it's not too hard, I'd suffer through with my original lineup and come down hard on these guys defensively.

Ok guys I like Strickland and think overtime he will be a good ball player here at UC, but come on, you think he is going to start over Jackson, there is absolutely 0% chance of that happening.

i dont think he will start over jackson, but he should. Jackson is just flat out awful. Id rather give this kid playing time just to simply develop. Will it happen no. But jackson played about as bad of basketball as you could play this year

He cant stay out of foul trouble.
He has zero post moves. I think his go to move is dribble once do a little half turn and throw(yes throw) it at the rim
And he is a turnover machine

you guys are all going to post how much you love JJ next year when he has a huge senior season, he will be good next year, he's been good his whole career here, I guess you all will have to wait til next year, but he will be exactly what we need.

Jackson is what he is. He is not horrible, he is not great. He is a 6th man and should be used as such. I never want to see him start, but I would like to see him play 20-25 minutes off the bench to provide the cliche spark.

Also, this is a good year for us to be in the AAC. Playing all these freshman and sophomores could be a problem with the constant grind of the former Big East, but this lesser conference will allow for an easier learning curve.

I think JJ has potential, I have just questioned his desire to fulfill it. Hopefully his senior seaon provides that motivation.

uhh...no, he did not play as bad as you can play. That doesnt even need an explanation.

we were watching different players then.

answer some of these questions...and then maybe go back and watch some tapes on him this past year

1) did he stay out of foul trouble?
2) and how many of those fouls were not very smart fouls to give?
3) can he dribble? how many times on offense and in crucial situations did he dribble off his foot, travel or commit and offensive foul?
4) can he shoot/score/MAKE LAYUPS?..idc who you are or what conference you play in. basketball players make layups
5) does he have a post move? what is it? blindly chucking the ball at the rim isnt a post move

The first 2 years of his career he showed promise and potential and this year he took a MAJOR step back.

I said I like that line up. Never said it's how it will be. I don't.

Im not saying Jackson had a good year. however, he continued his dynamic shot blocking, he played with high energy, he actually played post defense very well, and contrary to popular belief, the few times he does make a post move, they are actually pretty decent. That's another thing, HE KNOWS NOT TO SHOOT. He's not a great player, but he is not the worst you can be, and he adds something to the team.

Evidently according to the Enquirer he played in 39 games when UC only play 34 total and he didn't play in all of those....they are terrible.

Yes, they are, but I think that they would still be able to tell if someone is injured. They always miss the details.......
