According to the people up here in Columbus, the Big 10 doesn't feel a need to expand at all and won't consider it unless ND decides they want to be a part of the Big 10. Based on their willingness to stay at 12 schools, there will be 5 major conferences for the immediate future. The ACC, Big 10, Pac 12 and SEC are givens and then the Big 12/Big East will be the other. This is how it looks to be going. The ACC will go to 16. The SEC will go to 14. The Big 10 will stay at 12. The Pac 12 will stay at 12 or go to 16. If they stay at 12, more than likely Texas will still be gone to the ACC or will have to essentially dump their television network. If Texas stays, the Big 12 could add 3 more (UC, UL, and WVU) to go to 12. If Texas leaves they could also add TCU to get to 12.
