Anyone read P-doc today in the Enquirer? He mentioned, in reference to the x-gtown game, that he likes the new big east better due to more offense and being more entertaining. His claim isn't without merit, but there was something special about those big east slug fests, at least to me. Every shot mattered. The way I felt about the old big east was how I think SEC fans think about their brand of football - it's just better and no conference compares

Really, which new Big East teams have better offense than Syracuse and Louisville? Creighton, maybe, and that is simply because they have the NPOY on their team.

Who are you guys rooting for tonight in the UConn/Memphis game on ESPN at 7? I guess it doesn't matter too much if it all stays in the conference, but I'll be pulling for Memphis, just because we have a good quality road win against them. If they can remain a great team and finish top 15, that'd be huge for us.

I am rooting for UConn. First because I hate Memphis fans and second because it will give them two losses and UConn already has two losses. It would be nice to be up multiple games on both of them...

Creighton has the #1 Adjusted offense according to KenPom (Syracuse is #8 and UofL is #28).

The New Big East has been a big disappointment IMO. You've got Georgetown and Marquette (who shared the BE title last year) as bubble teams. In the latest bracketology they've got 2 Villanova, 4 Creighton, 8 Xavier and 11 Georgetown. In comparison the American has 5 Cincinnati, 5 Memphis, 6 Louisville, 8 UConn and 11 Southern Methodist.

NTS, I'm with you. I'm rooting for UCONN. Anything that improves our position in league standings is a good thing at this point. First goal is win the league. Everything else will take care of itself.

You can use this link to compare scoring by season. There's only a half season sample size of the new little east. I think it was more scoring that daugherty was happy about. He's not an advanced metric person looking at points per possession, real fg efficiency, etc. I'm not a fan or defender of the this sham of a conference. the old and new version of this conference is to me the difference between the Rolling Stones and a Rolling Stones tribute band.

Very good game between UConn and Memphis, Tigers up 40-39 at the half.

Louisville and Houston hasn't been as good of a game. Louisville has 57 points...in the first half. We only scored 61 over the whole game against them lol.

84 - 46 with 3 and a half left....what a beat down!

Not sure why you're pumped Memphis isn't as good as you thought. Yeah, the loss gives UC a bigger cushion, but that's our huge win so far...

It doesn't really matter to me who beats who in conference, as long as we have a shot at getting 5 teams in the tournament. Memphis, UConn, Louisville, and Cincinnati are all going to beat up on each other at times. I do kind of wish Memphis took their remaining losses on the road though, because that would make our win in Memphis look that much better.

I am, however, rooting for SMU to do well the rest of the season because having 5 bids would really help the AAC's perception.

I want 5 bids and for the conference to look good, but I want a conference championship more. UCONN winning tonight helps with that goal. We now have a 2 game lead over 2 of the 3 best teams in conference.

For sure it would be nice to have a two game cushion. If...IF...we win the games we are supposed to the UL game is HUGE in that regard. But our schedule is backloaded big time...so YES the two game cushion is HUGE at this point. Sucks it's at UL though...their fans will probably be out for blood because of last year's home game at UC. Our fans downright read them the riot act in that game. Fortunately Behanan is off the team so maybe it won't be too bad...but I doubt it.

UL is the only team in the conference that really worries me. They have a ton of talent and know how to score...a lot. Defensively you know they are sound too. I was really happy to see UConn win last night. If we can split both UConn and UL that would be very good for us imo. I am expecting to beat Memphis again especially with it on senior day.

OSU with their 3rd straight loss tonight. If we win Saturday we very well may pass them in the polls.

Here's the stat line from the great and wonderful (and did I mention OVER RATED) Aaron Craft.

Jason will you be posting the Stats for his good games as well. Don't be a hater all your life.

Here I'll post this again for you. This is a very well respected D1 coach giving his assessment of Aaron's abilities. I'm quite certain Your observations are based on many more years of experience and general knowledge about the game of basketball then his but I thought I would post a different opinion just the same. hope you enjoy it.

I'll do you one better. Here's all his averages for four years. One could easily argue his sophomore year was his best but, you will notice that he really hasn't improved from his freshman year. You think I am hating because I hate Ohio State, but you are plain wrong. I "hate" Aaron Craft because I don't think he is very good and fouls at least 10 times a game that doesn't get called. I love Ross' game and despite not liking Ohio State, I can respect that. He's the only player that showed up yesterday.

That's more biased than you claim me to be. It's on Ohio State's website for crying out loud. So he played one good game. That's not surprising. For as great as everyone claims him to be, he should be far more consistent and should have shown some improvement from his freshman year. Hasn't happened.

Opposing coaches never rip opposing players. It's not good form. If they did, you would get plenty of coaches saying that he can't defend the pick and roll well because he gets "stuck on the pick" far too often. He plays defense with his hands and as a result, fouls like crazy but it doesn't get called. He can't shoot worth a lick so we will gladly give him the 3 point shot and take our chances with a 28% shooter with bad form.
