OU, UD and Xavier were our big three OOC games this year and they may not live up to the hype. OU is 3-3 with no good wins. They did play UK tough but UK is obviously not as good as people think after getting a beat down from UCONN.

UD beat Ole Miss which is whatever. SEC hoops is terrible. Nice win but not great. They nearly lost to some bad teams.

Xavier has a solid record with only 1 loss but they don't have any great wins. Seton Hall is solid but without Hazel that doesn't mean too much. I can't get a good feel for them yet but they don't seem to be as good as the last couple years.

Good news is that we are 5-0 and playing great defense. No way we should lose before Jan 6 verse Xavier and if things keep going the way they are we will be favored to win that game.

A bad OOC schedule only hurts if you lose. If we win 14 or 15 games in the OOC it would beat the hell out of going 8-4 with loses to good team IMO.

I imagine our OOC SOS will be around 150-175.

I imagine our final SOS will be around 50-70. Big East is looking strong again and is the #1 conference in the RPI.

You don't need to have a good OOC schedule when you play in the Big East. These games are scheduled well in advance and you never know when a team like Oklahoma is going to have a down year. It doesn't matter as long as you win.

I hear you, but I would never say I hope X finds ways to win.

I feel the same way, but there's always in the back of my mind thinking we need X to look as strong as possible (win or lose) to help our RPI. But yeah, I'll never root for them. Maybe we should just hope Mount St. Mary's tears it up for us the rest of the year.

Yep, at the time we scheduled Oklahoma they still had Willie Warren, Tommy Mason-Griffin, and Tiny Gallon. Now all of them left and they lose to the likes of Chaminade. But it's not our fault. We just have to focus on winning.

Agreed. I hope UD picks it up and X continues to find ways to win.

I think both will at least be bubble teams, so it would be nice to have the head-to-head advantage.

The problem is that I don't see the BE ever getting more than 8 bids. The games against UL, ND, WVU, and Marquette are going to be huge.

PITT, Cuse, and Nova are too good to miss the tournament. UConn and GTown are off to a good start. That leaves 6 or 7 other teams fighting for the final 3 spots. It's going to be another crazy year in the BE!

This team needs to have no bad home losses, win the road games they are suppose to win, and they need a big win or two on the road. Win what you're suppose to win and grab a couple of noteworthy victories over tournament teams. If they do that they will dance.

You don't need a great OOC schedule when you play in the Big East IF you do well in the Big East. If you play cupcakes in the OOC and then struggle in the Big East you aren't going to make the tournament. That said, UD and XU will still do well in the A10 so the UD win will look at least somewhat solid. If they beat XU that will look solid as well. There is only so much you can do about these teams. It just so happens that they are having a down year.

This only matters if UC loses OOC games... if they continue to play the way they have they will be undefeated going into BEAST play... hopefully they do so.

yeah teams like x cant schedule a a out of conferance schedule like this cuz they are in the a 10 but we are in the toughest of the tough and now uconn is a top ten team this is going to be another tough year. but i think we can undefeated in the ooc then hopefully get 8 in the beast and at least one in the beast tourney and that should get us in :)

Syracuse is a great example of that.

Except to maybe give a bone to the local fans. Sorry I have a hard time getting excited about most of these games. Been a season ticket holder since 1980.
