Jacob you need a break bro. The players like Cronin or they wouldn't have come here. They're D1 athletes, they think they're capable of winning games and tournaments. If they had the give up attitude you've shown over the past 3 days they wouldn't be where they're at.

Seriously. Take a break you'll feel better

Some people on this board are acting like someone shot their dog , life's not that bad.

I know UC isn't going to win thirty games next year, but I can't wait for the first game.

Ha you are probably right.

Only 3 days since the biggest collapse in NCAA Tournament history though. Just can't move on that quickly. It's so frustrating.

I'm watching it right now...holy shit it's even worse than I remember. We played directly into their hands and basically fed their momentum. I seriously don't ******* understand. 2 airballs, several missed layups, shooting with 25 seconds left on the clock, theist goes on. But I gotta tell you, watching Mick angrily scream and point his finger to "get back" after every shot, made or missed, makes me want to spit at the TV. Seems completely unnecessary

Coach Cronin's best way to get over this might be to watch the whole game every day until the start of practice.

And absolutely SCREAMING at Cumberland when he got his 5th foul, when his dumb ass left him in. Absurd...I gotta relax cuz I'm climbing the fence to the other side ride now. Good night fellas.

Once they got within 12, I shift the blame solely to Cronin. For whatever reason he just had nothing to offer them on how to fix it...and that's scary.

Good night for real now

Once it hit 10. I would have called a timeout. Came back, unbounded ball, called another timeout.... Rinse/Repeat.

Momentum is all college basketball is.

Off Season and Player Development

I see this thread two ways. The biggest off season development to me is the status of Jacob Evans. The biggest player development is scoring down low and that is probably Scott.

I picked Cane Broome. Cause I don’t think Evans stays and I think Cumberland will be fine. I don’t think scoring downlow will be an option. So I think Cumberland and Broome creating opportunities will be vital to our success.

I believe you’re right but will Mick start Cane or will he continue to mind screw the kid. If I was Mick and I’m counting on Cane I would try and gain his trust and send him to as many elite camps as possible. Like the Steph Curry Select Camp. Use your UA affiliation and help Cane be the player we all know he could be. Be Mick has to make sure Cane trust in him.

Cane Broome had career highs in FG% and 3PT% yet his scoring went from 23.1 his SO year to 7.9 2 years later. Obviously there is a transition from Sacred Heart to UC. But the per/40 scoring went from 24.7 to 15.3. That's bs. He was hitting shots at a rate higher than ever before. He's an electric scorer. That's why he was brought in. Yet he wasn't ultimately allowed to play the way he should be allowed to play.

This is also on Coach Cronin 100%. He KNEW we needed Broome. But he spent the whole entire season d*cking him around. That shit needs to stop.

Look at the Malik Newman situation at KU. VERY similar. Highly thought of transfer coming in who is expected to help immediately. Struggles a tad out of the gate getting adjusted. Gets taken out of the starting lineup. Has his role diminished a bit. But this is where Bill Self and Mick Cronin part ways. Cronin never let off of it and suffocated the kid. Bill Self got to a point with Newman where he knew he just needed him playing well. And it was late enough in the season that he just had to live with any mistakes bc at the end of the day he is one of the best players. Newman responded. He has been freaking killing it. He's got put back into the starting lineup when it was time to put their foot on the gas. We did no such thing with Broome. Most of us screamed about it all year. The 2 game losing streak was the chance to show that we were going to shake things up and dare to go out a different way. That makes our coach too uncomfortable though. He has his comfort zone. And he's going nowhere. He's staying right there in it. He will budge for nothing or no one. And he takes everyone down with him. It must change. He can't lie to himself and everyone else anymore. If he wants to play fast and shift towards offense, shooting, scoring...ok. Then do it. Stop talking about it all the time then being a chicken sh*t when push comes to shove. And if he doesn't mean a word of it. Then just embrace the rockfight. Admit that what you prefer. And operate as such. But don't expect the fans to like it. At all.

For the people picking Tre Scott, what are we expecting him to improve? He seems like the lest likely to improve in my opinion. I like him as a player but don’t see him changing much. He’s shot isn’t going to drastically improve in 5 months. Just curious

I picked Diarra.

But my hope for Scott offensively is that he catches in the high post, and we can either have him hand off, turn and face, power dribble and go up strong, or rise up and knock down a jumper from 15 feet in. I do not mind if he takes a few 3s...kind of like Clark his SO year type of attempts. I think he has a better chance of making them though if he complete eliminates any shots from 15-20 feet. That is not what we want him doing. In a weird way, the good news for our post guys is that they won't bring on double teams the way Clark and Washington would. So they will have a better chance in 1 on 1. Scott and Cumberland need to be our best all-around players...in terms of stuffing the stat sheet. Scott needs to offensive rebound, work on his handle more so he can take the ball coast to coast off of steals he generates, really work with his teammates on decision making when operating out of the high post and developing that chemistry, especially with a guy like Broome, and he needs to get stronger so he can finish over bigger guys, while playing in a more extended role.

Coach says all these guys can "run for days". Good. Bc I'm sick of the fatigue thing all the time. These aren't old ass men. Nevada traveled from Reno to Nashville, played an OT game with 3 guys over 40 minutes, use only 6 guys anyway, then completed the biggest 2nd half comeback in the history of the NCAA Tournament. Enough of the bs about our guys being so tired all the time. We clearly saw for Nevada that travel in the tournament doesn't mean a damn thing.

I never see him developing a steady shot. He shoots like a worse version of shaq Thomas. Really flat, that is hard to fix. I hope everyone improves a lot but it is rare to see multiple drastic improvements over a summer.

Outside of watching the rest of Cumberland's career, I'm not really sure what I can root/hope for as a fan.

I'll give it a couple more years but if it looks like we can't duplicate what we had talent-wise this year, that'll be it for me. It's just not worth getting excited about this program. If we couldn't do it this year...

Jeez
