Bob Knight is a complete *******. Is this really the point you want to make? Mick's sideline antics are downright embarrassing. And normally it's just that, embarrassing. But against Nevada it very well may have cost them the game. He couldn't control his shit and as a result everyone else freaked out. The way he chewed out Cumberland after he was fouled out (hey Jarron, you can't play anymore but I'm still going to rip you a new ahole because of my stupid mistake to keep you in with 4 fouls) was ridiculous.

And he should have chewed Cumberland out. Cumberland may have lost the game picking up that fifth foul. Now if you wanna blame it on mick after Cumberland was defending a basket, or preventing someone from blowing by him, I'll give you that. But it was on a stupid loose ball play. It was a STUPID foul no matter what time of the game, let alone with a few minutes left and already having 4 fouls. Cumberland deserved to get chewed out and I didn't think it was embarrassing for mick one bit. I guess I'm not on the put your nose in the corner/think about what you did train. If you do wrong, you hear it. And are we really gonna blame a 22 point loss because Mick got mad? So why don't we blow every lead? Because he gets mad all the time. That's the dumbest reasoning I've heard yet. I know I've played for this guy for 3-4 seasons but all of a sudden, just today, his yelling is gonna break my confidence. Ok

This whole thing is just unbelievable really.

Do you really think that was the appropriate time for Cumberland to be "punished"? How does that help anything? He's out of the game. Maybe shift your focus to what you have to do to win the game. And that has nothing to do with Cumberland at that point. Cronin is the coach. He gambled on Cumberland on the foul thing. It didn't pay off. You have to move on to try to win the game. It's not a matter of either chewing him out, or putting his nose in the corner, or any other kind of punishment. How you don't see that as the point is stunning. You don't have to be a super hardass disciplinarian coach anytime any player ever makes any mistake. Especially when the game is on the line like that, and it was YOUR decision to have him out there. Gtfo with this Bob Knight shit.

what positive came out or could have came out of yelling at cumberland in that situation? what does that help? I'm not saying yelling is a huge issue but it helped nothing at that time

Gambling on Cumberland was the biggest mistake. You don't let players determine the situation for the obvious reasons that actually played itself out. As a coach you just can't let that happen. I know there are different points of view...but the one you worry about the most is the very reason why you don't do it.

We could have played Cumberland on offense and taken him out on D. He picked up a defensive foul (his 5th) and he also let someone score on a layup because he could not foul after his 4th. I have listened to the reasons to keep him in...but I disagree wholeheartedly and I thought he should have come out when he got the 4th...and the question was not even a close call since we were up 7 at the time.

Lambasting the player for a dumb coaching call is the pot calling the kettle black.

Not once did I say much should have kept him in. So don't put words in my mouth. But that's doesn't excuse Cumberland making a bad foul. You guys seem to think everything is mutually exclusive. Like your argument is the only one that's right.

Who averages double figures next year? Cumberland. Maybe Broome? I can't imagine anyone else.

Cumberland and Broome sound about right.

In 13-14, we had one big scorer (Kilpatrick), one secondary scorer (Jackson), and then no one else above 7.3 ppg as we averaged 68 ppg as a team.

I think next year's squad could put up some similar numbers on an individual and team basis.

I agree. So Cane and Cumberland cant be at 10 a game either it needs to be 15+ for each.

I think it'll be more like Cumberland 17 and Broome 13. I'm not confident in that number for Broome though. Unless the magical SR tag next to his name makes Cronin like him now.

I’m just not sure how much Cronin likes Cane or that Cane completely trust Cronin to be successful. And saying that why would any transfer come in after witnessing how the other 2 was treated. I’m praying it works itself out. They need to be on the same path towards great year. But it starts now, and not a day later.

I don't think we will be much/any faster next year. Cumberland will be the guy. We will need heavy minutes from him. He will even play de facto PG at times. Cronin won't want to run him into the ground. Any time Cumberland is on the bench, we are going to be in big trouble.

I just got on here to bring this up. I don't think there is any way Cumberland averages less than 15 next year. I would think we use him a lot more with the ball in his hands, I could totally see him 17-5-5 next season. And wouldn't be surprised at all to see him closer to 20ppg than 15.

Idk if I'd say we would be in big trouble. Besides he has proven he can play 40 minutes already, another year of conditioning it'll be even easier. I am guessing in close games he doesn't see the bench more than 5-6 minutes if that. But I still thing our back up wings will improve this year. Moore needs to work on his consistency and really the same can be said for williams. They've both shown some flashes.
