B (Grade) : Cincinnati: Yes, I realize the Bearcats have lost two straight, at West Virginia and to Syracuse. But overall, how can anyone not be impressed with what this team has done in the aftermath of its Dec. 10 brawl with Xavier? Cincinnati is 10-3 since that game and is off to a 5-3 start in Big East play, including wins against Georgetown and Connecticut. Mick Cronin needs to be in the conversation for Big East Coach of the Year.

Folks, the fact of the matter is we got beat by a better team. The Cats played a team with superior talent and got beat. Cuse is one of the top 5 teams in the country. They are talented and deep. The WV game talent wise was a much more evenly matched game. Very tuff loss. I think if you excamine the BE we just played the 2 teams who are playing the best basketball in the conference at this time. We hung right with them and actually gave one game away. UC,WV, Cuse Marquette are the berst teams in the BE. If we can get by Marquette we can finish top 3 in League.

One other comment. It is also apparent as to why MC is going after two bigs at this time. When we play a quality opponent it is essential that we get good production out of Yancy. When Yancy is out of the game and we don't have his rebounding or at least the threat of a inside scorer our offense becomes one dimensional and easy to defend. Yancy has played very well since his return and is a big part of the success of the team now and going forward.
