Radford Game

I am out of town, any updates on the game?! I saw the halftime score and can't remember the last time we had 50+ points at half! Who's looking good?

Kelvin Gaines converted a 3 point play, Cash has been money, he has 15. The freshmen look very comfortable and Jaquon is manning up against bigger dudes pretty well. Overall, impressive, even if against a bad team. They aren't dribbling as much, it's a nice sign, much improved from the Wright State game.

I'm keeping in mind the competition but the effort level has really ramped up the past two games. The suspensions may be the best thing to happen this season for this team. Bottom line is the offense and defense looks more lively and it has nudged Mick to look deeper at his offense. They're looking like the team I thought they'd be.

They got over 100 for the first time in 6 years.
They took the air out of the ball and laxed on defense, otherwise, I think we'd be looking at a 45-50 point win.
Still, can't complain about the night they had. I think that's the most time Eppensteiner has had. The only time I recall him going in the first half.

Mick has got this team clicking on all cylinders

Before bearcatjeff jumps down my throat, I want him to know I did not see the game and cant comment on how good they looked.

Hopefully what eveyone is saying is true. Now, implement what they are doing vs quality teams

Completely agree. We have beat up some bbaaad teams.

But in hindsight, we have played some badddd teams earlier in the season and looked nothing like this.

Its progress, one way or another. Im not sure are this will translate to upper tier teams, but we cant be worse off

We beat a 3-9 Radford team but we looked good doing it and hung 100 on the scoreboard. Don't be fooled either, Radford is no better than Presbyterian and we lost to them earlier in the year.

I was at the game and it felt good to go to a game and not want to pull my hair out every time we possessed the ball. If Mick is serious about these offensive changes then it's a big step in the right direction.

I made it down yesterday for my first game of the season. The team obviously looked great. It helps alot when you make shots and can generate turnovers. With the suspensions, Mick is forced to play "four guards" because Gaines and Jackson are too foul prone to be on the court at the same time. This will naturally make a game faster. Heard Mick make a good point in the postgame about when a guard is getting the rebound they don't have to make an outlet pass to get the ball upcourt, they can just turn and go. This leads to quick offense and more possessions (also gives your opponents more possessions). I saw alot of that yesterday.

I think it's important to realize the competition level the last two games. They've gotten good ball movement that have led to wide open shots and have managed to knock them down. Anyone who thinks that will happen that easily in the Big East is fooling themselves. Just ask Villinova how well this game plan works in the Big East. With that said our effort level, regardless of competition level, has been outstanding and that leads to better decisions and more focused shooting. Leads to winning more of the "50-50" balls too that we've lost all season because we haven't come out with fire. Hopefully this effort level continues.

Are you going to apologize to mick and this board for wishing his murder?

Are you going to finally admit mick is a genius at game preparations, recruiting, and in game adjustments?

We are lucky to have mick

Apologize for what?

Getting on a guys case who makes hundreds of thousands to coach a basketball team and has under achieved thus far? That guy...

This is how the team should have been performing all season long. I'll hold out my praise for mediocrity until I see a good performance against quality teams

Is this the same Mick Cronin that lost to Presbyterian at home? Lost to Marshall at home? Got blown out by Xavier? No, I don't think I'll take back any criticism I've had of Mick.

I'm happy that after 6 years he's willing to try something different on offense. We'll see how it works out when we aren't playing Wright St or Radford. What it should be Ralph is a wake up for people like you who blindly supported everything Mick did. Earlier in the season Mick said he didn't have the guys to win games if they weren't winning ugly and he refused to identify his offense as an issue. Now he makes a change that people like me have been screaming for the last 6 years and it appears to be working against inferior competition.

Actually Ralph, I think you should apologize to me and the rest of the "anti mick team" for the fact that you are such a blind homer. I'll gladly accept your apology whenever you are ready.

The unfortunate thing about fans in the city of Cincinnati is they never know when they have something good going until it is gone. The negativity of Cincinnati fans is unbelievable to me. I would rather enjoy sports and have fun watching them than be so overly critical that it doesn't become fun any more.
