Well, sounds like Ellis is a beast. 26 pts on 11-16 and 4-4 FT? Good grief.
KJ didn't shoot well, but had 3 AST 3 REB 1 STL and only 1 TO.
Caupain had a very Caupain type line. Same with Cobb.
10 boards for Clark. He and Ellis together is awesome.
Looks like Evans came on a little after a slow start.
Scott played 29 minutes compared to 9 for Quadri...
Anyone there have any insight?
I can tell you Quardri looked like everybody expected him to look. Every freshman started while Quadri sat on the bench. When he was in they took it to the hole on him every time and grabbed multiple offensive boards. He looked as disinterested as ever.
Evans looked shaky at first but really warmed up to the game. He looks smooth with the ball and is more substance than flash.
I don't see too many minutes for Scott unless there is major foul trouble. He will play over Quadri, but anybody will play over Quadri. He had a nice bucket where he seemed competent around the rim, but he just won't play on this team.
Jenifer will be interesting. You can see the offensive talent, he has great vision, he's quick with the ball, he gets into problem areas on the court for the defense. His defense is not where Mick expects defense to be I don't think. That's understandable for a freshman in a practice game, and he actually picked Caupains pocket once when Caupain was too casual with the ball. He will race the ball up the court, but many times most of his teammates were lagging behind so he just had to stop and wait on them.
From the returning players they all looked about what you would expect. Ellis was dominant on both ends, DeBerry is so freaking big and strong, Clark was hustling all over the place. KJ missed a bunch of shots and did typical KJ plays. Cobb hit open 3's. Caupain didn't seem too intense in this one, and not really in a bad way. He seemed like a guy extremely comfortable and played it like it was a scrimmage. He seemed to be having some fun.
