What do you guys think about redshirting anyone for our incoming class? We didn't redshirt anyone last year, but it seems like Cronin generally prefers to redshirt one. Who's the most likely between Jenifer, Evans, and Scott? Or will it just be a transfer? Or nobody for the 2nd straight year? If we can get a big to transfer, I bet it's either him or Scott.

If anyone I think it will be Scott unless they add a guard ready to play via transfer. As of right now I say nobody.

Jenifer will be invaluable in the final minutes of games because he can beat the press with the dribble or vision, none of the lobbing it backwards over the 2 guys coming up to press. Depending if we get any size in the spring maybe Scott, I don't know if he played against anybody his size in H.S. I think Evans will be this years Cobb and start sometime after January.

Might depend on Moore. As of now he's not slotted for many minutes. He could just as well redshirt unless he transfers. If he transfers I doubt Scott will redshirt. If he's not going to play then I would redshirt him and work on him a little because he does show potential and he's got a big body. Scott may be more useable than Moore next year and the reverse could be true the year after when Ellis and DeBary leave.

Of course I would love to see Moore work the off season with a chip on his shoulder and come out and seriously challenge the incumbent starters.

The strength coach tweeted a pic of workouts yesterday and Quadri was there (didn't think at the time to look for Morman). I don't think he'll redshirt or transfer. For Scott, I think it depends on what happens this spring. I agree with Jeff though...as of today, I'd say no one redshirts.

i do remember hearing cronin saying on an interview they still wanted to get another player or 2 after the 3 signings one of which he was hoping to get a jr college transfer to redshirt or maybe he just meant a big guy in general

the one market cincinnati has not really got into is transfers in general its only a matter of time before we land a high name transfer you would think or even a 5th year senior

IMO jenifer is more likely if morman is staying. Jenifer can learn and be ready the following year once Cobb leaves and you can always slide evans between SG and SF if need be. The bearcats desperately needs another big for this coming year.

Jenifer and Caupain might be on same level right now. no way he redshirts

Caupain and Jenifer are opposite types of point guards. Troy is 6 inches taller and protects the ball with his body Justin uses quickness to protect the ball. Game situations and the opponent differ so much you need both types. no way Jenifer redshirts IMO.

The body language of Morman on the bench was he still wants to be here in a Bearcat uniform which I hope he does stay. We need his talent and energy.I would love to see Moore redshirt. He could have a great career!

I know shaq thomas redshirted but does mick have more of a history redshirting his guards. I just think there backcourt has enough depth if morman stays and you can always slide a evans or thomas to SG if needed.

There is this one guard that redshirted and ended up as the second all-time leading scorer in school history, can't remember his name though. Other than him he has redshirted Cashmere Wright (injury), Gaines (voluntary), Ellis (injury/suspension), Thomas (eligibility), Davis III (injury then transfer), Strickland (eligibility) and Morman (voluntary/injury).

Bearcats have Ellis, Clark, Moore, Deberry and Scott. They don't "desparately" need a big. I think they will bring one in though, with an eye towards next year and to give Scott a year to physically mature.

Jenifer will have growing pains next season. I don't think he will play as much as some think.

He won't play a ton, but that's because Caupain, Cobb, and KJ will take the lion's share of the minutes. I don't think it will be because he isn't ready to play. He will be more ready to play than Moore or Morman were this season. There just won't be more than about 10 minutes per game available to him.

Shaq can be a small lineup 4 too. I'd consider him more of a big than Scott (next year anyway).
