It's early but I would like to say it now in case things change.

Some interesting ppg stats before our game today.

Butler #1
UConn #10
Tulsa #11
Cincy #12
Nebraska #12

We will move up after today. Last year we were about 40 ppg less after two games. I knew we would be significantly better...but so far we are well above expectations!

Those who a week ago tried to understate and downplay Jenifer's impact on this team, just don't know what they are talking about. We heard that he won't be able to throw his passes against Div. 1 teams. Well that was an NCAA team that we played today and he threw those same passes effortlessly. He came in first in a tight 3 point game and made an immediate impact to stretch the lead out to 17 by the time he left. 6 for 6 from the free throw line. 1 for 1 from 3. Nine assists. Perfect from the field....awarded star of game by Dan and Chuck. 7-9 minutes of playing time per game? Don't think so. This guy is the real deal.

Our whole team is the real deal.

First of all I would like to say Jenifer was absolutely electric tonight! He chose his shots well and made them all and distributed the ball with some unbelievable passes. He provided a huge spark and can absolutely change a game!

However, what you are saying above is not entirely true. Some of us were saying SOME of his passes might be picked off when we see better competition and that jenifer would likely experience some growing pains and inconsistency as a frosh. it's easy to toot your horn after a good game but you can't ignore the others.

Through two exhibition games and two real games he has been awesome in half of them and less than awesome in half of them. That would be the definition of inconsistency although we all hope and expect him to learn faster than others. He's a smart kid so I am counting on it. He has shot pretty well except for one outing where he didn't choose his shots very well.

2 exhibitions he was 4-1 assist to TO and 0-1. In two real games he was 9-1 and 0-3. That's 13-6...just above 2-1 ratio overall. Contrast with Caupain who has been 20-4 for a 5-1 assist to TO ratio.

Two different styles and they both impact the game positively in different ways. I am EXTREMELY excited about Jenifer after wathing just a few games!

As a team we are 51 AST/27 TO through 2 games...1.89. Insane!

Come conference play Jenifer will play 10 minutes a game or less.....

This team is one of the greatest teams I have ever seen. Easily Mick's best and I believe it would have been a top 5 Huggins' team.

Justin Jenifer is the future. I love watching him play. The crowd was on the edge of their seats yesterday when he had the ball in his hands. Everyone knew something amazing was about to happen. Our backup team made Robert Morris look like a high school team. I know Evans and Jenifer are going to have freshman moments, but they are going to be huge contributors this year. They look ready to go and play with the starters like they've been on the team forever. You can tell this team is close and they all bought in to the team before individual stats.

Bearcat fans enjoy the greatness because it is here to stay. Even 2 years from now we'll be GOOD:

Justin Jenifer
Jarron Cumberland
Jacob Evans
Gary Clark
Kyle Washington

Jenifer did look really good yesterday, but also made some terrible passes. Not worried about the latter as he'll only get better with that. He does a great job setting up the play so he can make a great pass.

I also like what I've seen from him in the zone offense because he is able to penetrate it better than others. However it remains to be seen how effective he'll be if teams sag on him. His lone outside shot yesterday looked much better than in the previous game.

Remember when UC couldn't run a fast break to save their lives? Oh how things have changed. The best thing about yesterday was the perfectly executed fast breaks time after time. Cobb, Jenifer, Caupain all would break and then take the ball to the middle of the court and then kick it out, score themselves or throw an oop. Also love seeing the strong finishes at the rim. Ellis, Deberry and Clark love to finish strong. Another weakness that is becoming a strength. Obviously it has been a small sample size but how can you not be pumped for the season after what we saw yesterday.

I love how Shaq saw Ellis trailing on the break, and gave it up to him for the monster slam as a reward for running the floor.
