I am trying to keep all these things organized so I can see where UC stood throughout the season.

Through Dec. 22....
RPI: 56
BPI: 54
KenPom: 39
-Offensive Efficiency: 154
-Defensive Efficiency: 6

Cincinnati is clearly an elite defensive team right now, and I definitely think they have chance to get much better. The real evolution of this team will take place on the offensive end, you cannot get much better than #6 in defensive efficiency.

Good idea for a thread.

Here is the update after the OOC portion of the schedule:

RPI - 54 (148 SOS)
BPI - 41

KenPom - 35
AdjO Eff - 120
AdjD Eff - 8

Massey - 33
Off - 149
Def - 9
Expected Wins - 12.33
Expected Losses - 5.67

Good stuff! Is anyone aware of available advanced stats for players like the Player efficiency ratings or other stats for college players & teams? I thought I saw someone post a +/- stat for individual player in one of the threads but can't find it anymore. It be interesting to use in the best lineup debates.

Yeah. I use this site here (LINK) for the +/- stats. That site is also good to use during the games as it live tracks tempo stats, effective FG%, etc. Also has line-up +/- for the game.

I also use (LINK) for efficiency stats

KenPom also offers in-depth efficiency stats if you are willing to pay.

That's awesome! Thanks for the links.

This site HERE we have our own team page with boat loads of information available including some advanced stats. It's really well done and free.

If you check out the NCAA tournament selection info on ESPN, leaning heavily on the use of the BPI, the Cats are currently listed as getting an at large bid.

I'll be curious to see how other ESPN columnists use their companies own info. Most recently Dana O'Neil after the Pitt game used the old standby of "not passing the eyeball test" as tournament teams for the Cats and Pitt.

As we head into AAC play, here's a look at the conference in terms of RPI. I know RPI isn't the best measure, but this site makes it easy to sort by conference. As expected the AAC is the "tale of two cities" with little ground in the middle (Temple). On the plus side the Cats should have 6 games (UConn, Memphis, L'ville twice each) with teams in the top 40 RPI, and 2 games (SMU twice) as a top 60-70 RPI game. We need to steal some good wins and avoid the bad losses - which means winning at S.Fla which has been a nightmare for the Cats in recent years.

Here's the game preview from the site you linked to. It's pretty interesting.

I like how they threw in a violent crime stat in the "statsmack" section.
"More violent crime happens in Memphis so be careful if you visit (when compared to Cincinnati -- according to the FBI)."

After the SMU win Cincinnati moves up the #43 in the RPI, #32 in Ken Pom (Offense: 113, Defense 9) and 33 in the BPI.

Good test against RPI #18 Memphis on the road.

There are a lot of cool features on that site...it seems endless the stats you can pull up. I haven't seen it for a while but they use to do a "this day in UC history" once or twice a week.

This site seems to be completely computer program stats driven with little to no actual writers (probably algorithms)...but you wouldn't know it unless you really looked for it.
