Less skilled,,athletic 5’s - like Dou ???? Lol
I guess I need to add the part where they also have a good grasp on knowing what they’re doing out there. Dou actually has a skill of shooting and still can’t find the court much

Not a brand new roster. The core of the team is Etienne, Dennis, Wade, and Udeze - all returning players. Gilbert is the only newcomer playing significant (20+) minutes. I don't know why this myth persists.
Still a great job by the coaching staff though.
Gilbert made some killer plays down the stretch. They have a better best 5 than we do or even did with Harvey
I'd take Williams over Dennis. Maybe Davenport over Wade. Definitely their roster over ours though. It's not fun having a three point percentage ranked #330 in the country. Not only a better best 5, if you were building a starting lineup and could take guys from either roster, how many UC guys would it even have on it?
I'd take Gilbert, Etienne and Udeze. Probably Dennis as well. Keith is the only guy on UC who might be as good as WSU's top 3/4 guys.

Those defensive possessions by WSU were beautiful. And they played with more hustle than I’ve seen the Bearcats play with all year.
Hot take: John Brannen coaches too clean for this league.
This is league built in the image Mick Cronin ball. Dirty, gritty, tough, defensive and killers for rebounds.
Love or Hate Mick.... I absolutely love that he is now 4-0 vs Sean Miller since going UCLA
You can win other ways man. Believe it or not. Basketball is more than just cronin ball. I know that’s hard to believeThose defensive possessions by WSU were beautiful. And they played with more hustle than I’ve seen the Bearcats play with all year.

Listen to this weeks bcj podcast. Lot of interesting points. Maybe we don’t know what we think we know

If Greg Marshall rehabilitated his mean self, would you hire him at cincinnati ?
All indications are that Chad has no more access than we do, so he doesn't know any more than we do.
They've got an extremely optimistic/pro-brannen take, but I guess you'd be on board with that.
What are the interesting points?
Maybe Vogt comes back (which he has no actual reason to think)? Sorry, I don't want Vogt back. He doesn't fit Brannen's system and isn't a high quality 5.
Harvey didn't do anything but score. Wasn't the idea that Brannen would get guys who can play offense and teach them to play defense? It seems like Brannen's plan is get guys who do everything, but not that well and have a low ceiling.
Mason just wins games? Let's talk after the next 6.
I could go on, but basically the wrap is that you would fit in very well in terms of outlook on the radio show.
I’ll listen later but I don’t believe a word Chad Brendel says about UC anymore.
He’s state run media at this point. His access ain’t what it used to be and he’s the spin zone for the CJB administration in hopes of more access later. Seriously his scooped by random people or Justin Williams all the time.
Lol he says negative criticism of CJB’s program is bad for business. But looking at his board right now, it likes CJB is bad for his business.
So anything he says needs to be taken with a grain of salt. He’s been friends with brannen for 30 years.
