As always I take the W and move on. Now my rant. We can talk scheme all we want to, and I even agree with most of what is said, but these guys just totally lose focus, fail to play smart basketball, and stand around more than any team I've seen this season. They struggle when they stand around period end of story. It freakin drives me nuts!!!!! There was a posession late, one of Cash's step back 3 moments, when the announcer said, "They couldn't find Kilpatrick." I thought couldn't find him? He has stood in the same place the last 3 posessions and made no effort to get open!! Find him? The pigeons could have built a nest on him!! That's not to pick on Sean, they all do it, but I was going crazy!! They're up 20 and start throwing the ball away, shooting quick 3's instead of looking for a good shot and running clock, and not moving. Can't tell you how pissed I was. Then the game ended and we won. I thought well 6-3 in league isn't too bad. Fact is that's all that matters. If you have to win ugly to win, win ugly. Just keep winning.

Typical UC fashion, playing to the level their opponent. Same thing against DePaul, can't keep the their collective feet on the pedal. But, as the saying goes, a win is a win and a loss is a loss. Would like to see Sanders play more and Gaines play less. Cash looked better, SK played great and then faded a little (he needs to attack the rim every once in a while to keep the defense on their heels), Parker was solid.

Drives me nuts to because its been this way for a few years now. It blows my mind with the veterans we have they still allow it to happen. Also, I'm sorry but gelawn sucked as well as Gaines. Gaines had five crucial mistakes in the start of our fall. They started the fall and shaq looked terrible. But shaq gets a pass BC he is a freshman.

gg and gaines gets a pass too then because they are young also. these guys will get better with more playing time and experience. remember it took parker awhile too so lets not be quick to be down on them

I think it was good that gaines got to play as much as he did. UC had the cushion to absorb his mistakes so if he actually has potential why not let him get some exp when he can. Im sure cronin didnt believe the game was in jeopardy with a 20 pt lead.

We all agree a win is a win.

But winning ugly is only going to get us so far in the tourny. Lets put 2 good halves of bball together and show what we are really capable of. We have not done that yet this season. We have shown spurts, but never a consistent 40 or even 30min

As long as uc keeps winning I could care less how ugly it looks.

By the way, I've accurately predicted all but 4 games this year(2 of which the refs screwed us out of)

Yea, we can keep winning ugly vs these bums and keep losing close ones to the top tier teams because we cant play a full 40min

I'll take the win. I've always said if you have to play a really early game it's better to be on the road because you're not in your familiar surroundings with your familiar distractions to keep you up late. Typical slow start. Great middle part of the game. I really thought Seton Hall was going to just roll over and die when we got up 20, but we ended up doing it for them. I'm not sure why Mick didn't call a timeout at some point either. I'm thinking maybe he didn't want to give Seton Hall a breather so late in the game they would be tired. UC didn't really look horrible during the stretch The defense wasn't bad, Seton Hall attacked and got some calls, on offense they got open looks, just couldn't knock them down. With that said, they had no business hoisting up all those threes, open or not. They got away from what got them the lead. Granted Seton Hall changed up their defense but when you're playing in the second half with a big lead you have the ability to run some clock and run some offense to get a good look. We got comfortable and stopped being aggressive.

You're too nice. Gelawn has had plenty of playing time and he looks awful. Gaines looks like a lost little boy 98% of the time.

We beat the top tier team in the conference.
Granted, we needed overtime but still.
I don't think any team plays great for 40. I've watched Duke, Florida, Indiana and Michigan too. We need to make shots or just stop shooting one pass 3's.

UC beat Oregon who is ranked 10th on a neutral court, Marquette who was/is ranked at home and Pitt who was ranked #24 at the time and will be again this coming week, on the road. I honestly don't get how you never give this team credit for anything. If you've watched any basketball at all this year you know there aren't any complete teams outside of maybe Florida who scores and plays good D. With UC's D and rebounding they can beat anybody in the country and if they can put a string of games together where they're hot at the right time, they could win a championship in this down year in college basketball.

Agreed

We also played one horrible half and one good half putting up 18 in the first and 37 in the 2nd. Syracuse

Cool story Jeff

You cant get into bad habbits playing weaker opponents. We should be blowing these teams out by double digits. But guys lose focus, we go on scoring droughts of more than 5-6min, we continue to jack up 3's when we need high percentage looks...

That is what sets us apart from being a top tier team and being above average.

A great UK team won the National Championship game last year despite making only 2 FG and scoring just 13 points in the final 10 minutes. They let an 18-point lead get down to 5. Playing consistent for 40 minutes and putting two good halves together is just coach-speak. You just need to be ahead when the final buzzer goes off.

If winning ugly can only get you so far in the tournament then UConn wouldn't have won the 2011 National Championship. They scored a total of 109 points and made just two 3-point FG against UK and Butler.

Were winning ugly vs SH, Rutgers, DePaul and played ugly vs St Johns.

Those teams are not KU and Butler. Ill take an ugly win vs quality opponents.

These other bums we need to be getting better and making a statement. Not going out there and do enough to get by
