It means take your Ohio State bullshit to BuckeyeTalk.com. This is a UC board...No one here gives a crap that you like Ohio State. So stop openly rooting for them on this board.
Wow that escalated quickly. I think it was just friendly back and forth trash talk. Waite is a class act and I appreciate all the mods.

Sorry I just have little/no tolerance for Ohio State and Xavier fans and I thought this board was a safe haven.

Not a issue. Time heals all wounds. I have two children who graduated from TOSU. One a athlete. Their experience and mine as a parent was great. Actually my son who is a block O member comes to UC football and Basketball games with me and cheers for the Cats. His home town team

If I offended anyone it was not my intention and I apologize As stated I did not start that thread I only stated my opinion.

There isn't much to define here. Rooting for OSU on a UC message board is trolling. Get off the subject. Period.

Seriously? Some of you need to lighten the **** up. Can we not logically see how OSU being successful THIS YEAR helps the Bearcats. Their DC is our new head coach. We just went 4-8 in the AAC. Our recruiting classes have been dog shit. We went 7 consecutive quarters without scoring a damn touchdown. Coach Fick has a huge challenge ahead of him in rebuilding our culture and our roster. We have 9 commits out of the 25 allowed. If OSU wins a national title he gets to walk into kitchens and living rooms of recruits and say, "My defense just won another national title. Im in charge now. I know what it takes to make great players. Come be a part of my first class." THAT WILL SELL. That is the type of momentum a new coach can parlay into an incredible class. Every good Ohio recruit that doesnt go to the biggest blue blood programs (OSU, MSU, UM) are all going to Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Louisville, Purdue, and even Toledo. We need this pipeline back. I want coach Fick to have every advantage available to him because it is what is best for the BEARCATS. I hate OSU as much as the next UC fan but this year Ohio State's success is UC's gain. So when I say THIS YEAR I am rooting for the Ohio State buckeyes I am not trolling. I am making a logical argument that them having success will be good for the brand new coach and the team I care about. With that said, GO BUCKS!

Nice post Jack!! I can certainly see your logic.

This makes sense. I don't think anyone is disputing this angle. It's being a full-time Buckeye fan and rubbing it in UC fans' faces on a UC board that got me pissed.

*I think it was closer to 12Q without a TD by the time we got in vs Memphis.

I've rooted for UC basketball since I was 9 years old. I grew up in a die hard IU household lol. Living in Indiana, I don't feel the hatred of OSU as I do with X. I rooted for OSU football through the garbage years of UC football (Indiana and Purdue were also garbage at the time).
I don't feel any less of a UC fan now for doing so then lol. Lighten up

add in the fact I had two kids graduate from there and I feel exactly the same way. I have always been a much bigger Bearcat basketball fan. Went to school with Derrick Dickey. The recent run that UC football had really peaked my interest and made me pay attention but I still followed TOSU. The reality is I have to believe there are a bunch of people living in Cincinnati who feel exactly the same way. Otherwise why would the local media follow them so closely.

Yeah I get the connections to other schools. Hell, my own grandpa played basketball at Xavier, was an asst coach on their NIT Championship team, then went on to be the Head Coach for a while. I have a lot of Xavier fans in my family. But like I said, this is a place to be a UC fan. I just got rubbed the wrong way when I felt that was being challenged. But I won't dwell on it.

i have to break our silence to ask. Did your grand father play with Jerry Helmers?

Lol. Not sure. Most of the names I know are from his coaching. My parents have the NIT banner in their basement now and it has all the players listed on it. Helmers doesn't ring a bell from that. I know Steve Thomas was his best player as HC if that helps narrow it down.

I think that a lot of this "anti OSU" posting is done with tongue planted firmly in cheek, by many. I don't "hate" OSU by any means, and do causally root for them at times....for example in last year's NCAA wrestling championships. But one thing I can't stand....no matter if it's fans from OSU, or UK, or Louisville, or ND, or Alabama, or even UC....is the "our shit don't stink, and you ain't nothing but shit" attitude and commentary that comes from certain fans. There is absolutely NO reason that I can think of to go to the message board of an opposing school and post up platitudes for their opposition. There is absolutely no reason to treat either the opposing school or its fans disrespectfully just because of who they are. (Unless they are Steeler fans, that is. In which case all bets are off and anything is fair game. :D). There is absolutely no reason to come on a UC board, brag about another schools sucess, and not expect to be taken to task. Some of it being serious, but most of it being in fun. Everyone just needs to lighten up and relax. Don't take sports so seriously. This is all supposed to be fun for us.....it's a job only for the coaches and administrators.

Helmers graduated in 1972. Was a very good player. He was the nephew of a nun who taught me in the 7th grade. Meanest nun I ever saw. If she taught today she would have been sent to jail for child abuse. Lol!! It's were my hatred of X started I'm sure.

kyle Snyder was a easy kid to root for. Freshman gold medal winner at the Olympics.

Wasted 20 minutes at work reading this non sense thread but have to admit it was 20 minutes well spent. As far as rooting for tO$U the comment about rooting for ISIS may embody my thoughts the best...

He has already won 2 natty's, sent numerous players to NFL, top college recruiter etc.. Will the momentum really be that great? IF he loses will UC lose recruits? Just not buying that UC will be so much more of an attractive option if they win to recruits. If a recruit wants to play in a P5, they will, even if it means going to UK or Purdue. Minor difference IMO. Hope OSU loses so we can get our coach that they are borrowing for the time being.
