Yeah it's very clear that it's meant to demonstrate what might be needed in a loser goes home.
Why are we talking about loser go home games in the middle of January though ?
We haven’t even played half our conference games and we’re talking about strategy for a lose or go home game?
When that day comes, we can talk about playing cane that long ( and I might agree, but that’s a lot regardless) until then we are talking a player starting vs not starting.

It’s less about starting and more about game management through different roles of players.
Jenifer’s role when he starts: don’t shoot unless you have to, feed the post, play hounding defense
Canes role: score, ignite the offense, take advantage of the other teams subs being inferior, push the pace
Tre Scott: energy guy, deflections, rebounds, effort
Etc
