They said just before half time they were shooting 30% higher than us, we ended up 10% higher than them for the game. That's an impressive turn around. To go with only turning it over twice in the last 30 minutes. Would love to see us start off hotter than that, but still really happy we can get ourselves out of a bad game pretty quickly at times.

Take out that one guy who was having the game of his life throwing up shots absolutely destroy them. They hardly got any good looks all day, that guy just did a solid jib in the first knocking down tough contested shots.

If you're going to play someone with the starters at the end of the game why not at the beginning? It seems every game we've come out flat with Jennifer starting and them once Broome is in we go on a run.

Because he has decided to split their minutes. I think people still holding out hope that Broome starts are just going to end up disappointed.

And to add to the list of team runs when Broome enters.

Came in at 13:18 left in the 2nd half with a 45-38 lead. Left at 2:20 with a 74-50 lead. not too shabby.

Ha you guys are bad mouthing what Is a winning formula so far.

Cane is coming off the bench and igniting the offense much like last year. I dunno about you, but I’d much rather start a half slow and finish really strong than vice verse.

I just want to win. So do the players and cane is really embracing his role, and the fact is, cane is the only reliable scorer off the bench. You can’t depend on freshman with Justin Jenifer to get things going.

I think every one makes way too big of a deal about who starts. On a team with this many reliable scorers, it’s best to space them out,

we were +20 when cane was in the game. we won by 23. you guys can do the math on that.

I have two problems with not starting Cane. On the road you don't want to give the lesser team hope they can hang. You like to quiet the crowd as early as possible. #2 is limiting the max amount of minutes you can give to a better player...not that Cane has been approaching max minutes yet or even will.

If you want to keep Cane in there with the bench for scoring... just keep him in the game longer. Problem solved.

It is similar to the same way Mick used Jarron last year to come off the bench, provides energy and scoring. Is also a nice change of pace from Jenifer.

winning formula doesn't mean its the best formula. more minutes for the superior player is a better formula than split minutes. but we still win with the split minutes formula.

The name of the game is winning. Coaches get paid to win.

We win. I’ll take the winning formula every single time.

I mean, we have two options: get a decent lead and then lose it, or get behind and then make a comeback.

The most irreverent stats in basketball is how the game starts and the score at half time. Starting strong is over rated, unless you go up or down by 20 very quickly.

Either way; I’m happy if we win. I’m happy if cane starts and we win, im happy if he doesn’t and wins.

Next year when UC loses 2 offensive stars and potentially 3, cane will start. I have no doubt about it. Right now mick is spreading his offensive power around different parts of the game

How can spotting an inferior team 10 points in the first half be irrelevant? Statistically the odds of them winning must go up from starting the game even.

Agree completely!!!

Haha you guys are completely missing the point.

If JJ is the real cause of our offensive issues, then they will still be issues no matter at what point he comes into the game.

If cane starts and we build a 10 point lead, then at some point JJ is going to have to come and surrender that lead.

Either way, I’m done arguing about it. Cronin knows what he is doing it and he has won more games than any one on this board. Yet every year people question him on some specific issue because it’s what fans do. If it wasn’t the cane issue, it would be something else.

We’re winning , our D is elite and our offense is improving by the game. But yea man, let’s fight about substitutions. The chemistry is building every game with team and it will only get better

actually no we aren't. nobody has said start cane but still split their minutes. they said start cane so he can play more minutes. thats why what you're saying doesn't make sense as a response to what they are saying.

the entire point of the start cane crowd was that if cane is needed for 35 minutes in a game, its very hard to get it without starting.

Starting JJ was not the cause of us spotting them 10 points.

I was responding to a hypothetical situation where hub says getting down in the first half only really matters if it's a big margin like 20.

I think 10 would also be significant. Less significant than 20 but more than 0 obviously.
