Freshman guard Lance Stephenson, who usually plays on the wing, manned the point for much of the game for the University of Cincinnati Sunday after not starting in either of the Bearcats’ last two games. Stephenson responded with 10 points and eight rebounds, two assists and two turnovers.

Why Stephenson instead of Cashmere Wright or Jaquon Parker?

“It was getting a taller guy throwing over the zone,” said UC coach Mick Cronin. “He did a good job moving the ball. When he was able to get the pass over the top to (Ibrahima) Thomas in the middle of the zone, it was pretty effective.”

The only time we did anything right in the zone, as far as movement, was when we got the ball into the post. It opened up open shots everywhere. Unfortunately we spent alot of the game passing the ball around the arc. Poor execution late in the game allowed us to score only 5 points in nearly 9 minutes of play.

Agreed. Personal also played a factor into why we didn't score too much.
