"We really didn't come in as focused as we should have been about the press," said guard Dion Dixon. "We didn't really pay attention to detail. But now that we've got that game under our belt and know what they do, we should be ready for it. We know what to expect now."

Statements like these aren't uncommon among these players. You can read some variation of these after most games. I know after the Depaul game one player said (paraphrasing) "Coach told us at halftime they would come out shooting 3's and more intense and we didn't listen". This has been the problem with these players and this team for 3 seasons now.

I have my criticisms of Mick Cronin but I have always said the players have to take ownership of their team. When you read statements like this from your team scoring leader it says a lot. The lack of attention to detail is exactly why they look back on offense and lost on defense at times. This is something the players should be policing among themselves. If they don't they will never be better than average. Attention to detail is what takes a team above it's talent to another level.
