he's also the only one that loses minutes to an inferior player. that wears you down over time.

its always a fine line between getting the most out of a guy and starting to alienate a guy. we have to hope cronin and cane are having loving clashes and not spiteful ones.

A very fine line. He has to play within the game plan and he has to play smart. We didn't bring him here to ride pine or to pass the ball from left to right.

He has to understand he can get on the court a lot more if he just listens and then applies.

and even if he disagrees with cronins point, just listen and go take his seat. don't try to argue the point like he clearly did last night.

Yeah I don't know if he pulled attitude or what, but that's probably not a smart plan. He's not going to win there. Nor should he bc there are 12 guys on scholarship. Letting anything like that go sets a bad tone. And that's not a winning tone. This isn't 6 win Sacred Heart. He can be frustrated, but handling it poorly won't do a thing for him.

agreed.

The point was that Cronin talks a lot about Clark but not nearly as much as Evans. I think Evans deserves almost equal praise. He and Gary are both irreplaceable and deserving of first team AAC honors.

All of the things those two do for this team is amazing!

Coach praised both players. So now your keeping score on who gets talked about more. SMH!

Where is my "rolls eyes" emoticon. Good lord

I can't talk about coaching improvements. Check. I can't talk about player minutes. Check. I can't talk about press conferences. Check.

WTF?

This is what you said. You compared the amount of praise one got vs the other. What was that about?

It's pretty self explanatory. Evans deserves a lot of praise and seems to get overshadowed by Clark a lot...even though they both do a tremendous amount for our team.

When Kyle messes up he loses minutes to Nysier Brooks. He even lost a couple of starts to him. Unless you think a lot of Brooks, I would have to say that is losing minutes to an inferior player.

The difference is that Kyle listens and has clearly been focusing on getting better - he is far more consistent defensively, and he isn't getting as frustrated when he goes a few minutes without a scoring opportunity. Cane needs to make the same sort of adjustments.

To put our elite D in perspective. UVA is #1 KenPom AdjD at 81.6 (insane). we are at 84.5. the next best is at 88.8.

Last year #1 was 86.3 and #2 was 88.0

Going all the way back to 2002, UC's current AdjD, 84.4, is tied for 3rd-best in 17 years of Kenpom. Only Virginia this year (81.6, an utter anomaly), Memphis in 2009 (84.2), and UK in 2015 (84.4) match our current 84.4 (also of note: John Calipari coached both the top two teams in AdjD prior to this season)

Third best out of over 5,500 team-seasons, and it isn't good enough to lead the nation this year.

That is very cool to know!

It's hard to understand how we do it. I mean I know we have Jake and Gary but we also have a 5'9" PG, a 5 who is known more for NOT playing great D, and a wing built like a brick house.

I will say this. Jenifer gets after it! Cumberland just has excellent instincts...he knows where you are going before you do. Kyle can block a few shots and is getting better. Our bench can all play D.

One area where I will probably always say "coach knows best" is on D. He's an elite defensive coach.

as soon as kyle and brooks average the same amount of minutes you can get back to me on that one.
