Looking where we are. Voght filled a hole greatly needed due to brooks leaving. Is he a Kenyon Martin? Absolutely not. But coming into the season who thought he would average double digits, have a 60 something shooting percentage, and be an average defender down low? Consensus was he was going to be a 4/4 guy that would get pushed around underneath. I think he has exceeded expectations of everyone, including myself. How many players come in and meet expectations their first year, let alone exceed them. He is not a rock star, but a much needed piece to the puzzle.

Yes, Vogt has been an incredible addition to the team. Every time he gets it down low you have to double. That helps the offense so much. But not only Vogt, but Sorrolla too. The fact that you can replace one 7 footer with another who is a threat down low is great.

And love MAW's game. Man is he smooth and collected. Got away with couple bad decisions at the end but otherwise was a stud.

I agree 100 percent. He was supposed to be mostly a mid major joke or a last ditch backup type. I don’t care what side of the fence someone is on about him. He’s not that...and that is a very nice surprise

We're definitely starting to grasp running the offense through our bigs. Hand offs, pick-n-roll, and back door cuts were all working tonight in addition to the low post. That makes baseline and wing drives available.

Tennessee was a perfect 17 of 17 from the free throw line.

Agreed! Not to mention that inbound play from the baseline seems to have resulted in some easy buckets this year. Just throw it to the 7 footer

1.16 ppp on a defense that had only given up 1.0 or better once all season. that with cumberland having 6 turnovers anda 79.2 ORTG.

you can see the system works. for those saying over and over its a mid major system and it could never work against quality opponents, it just rocked out against a top 5 defense and did so shooting just 5-15 from 3.

we've never had a system get so many free layups and dunks. its beautiful to watch. and we still had a ton of unforced turnovers. if this gets cleaned up and as guys grow comfortable, this offense could be really good.

hats off to brannen and the players. they could have easily folded after that colgate game. instead they fought like UC players fight.

They shoot 17-17 from the line. We turn it over a lot. We only make 5 threes. With their 2 point D coming into the game you have to figure on a loss with those stats. Our mid major bigs did them in

MAW played 31 turnover free minutes. Scott had just one in 38 minutes. Those might be the most significant stats for me.

I think Tennessee was a test for our offense and Iowa will be a test of our defense.

UC isn’t as bad as they played against Colgate and BGU and they probably aren’t as good as they played tonight.

But if this team can start believing in themselves then we can really move the needle.

I’m not going to get my hopes up too much after this really great win, but it does make basketball fun again.

I’m actually excited to watch the Iowa game. They pose an entirely different set of challenges.

Agreed in general it was decent for most of the team. Jarron and Keith going for 10 turnovers is not going to happen again. The rest of the team held it down. I like Jarron working from the 1 spot as long as he controls the turnovers and I think he will. We look better when he is running the show I think

When you can let your best scorer and passer facilitate the action from the point it’s going to be a better product. He’s played defacto point before. He sees the court better, he makes better entries, he can go downhill from the key. He’s got Jaevin, Mika, and Keith on the wing to make shots. It’s easier for Jarron to get his own shots off etc.

It just works better IMO

Jarrons passing concerns me in that scenario. He can’t make the pass to the duck down center, he threw it out of bounds three times tonight trying that pass

It was not good tonight in that respect but I think it’s better overall in the long run

He tries a little more than he can handle at times with entry passes but that can be mitigated with coaching

Was good to hear in post game presser from Brannen that Jarron is coming. He has seen a difference in practice and that is straight music (as long as it’s not coach speak...lol)

The team just needs jaron to get out of his funk and play like he is capable of. Not sure if it is injury related or mental, but he not himself this year, regardless which position he is playing

The stretch he played coming off 4 fouls was Jarron of old
