Good Game from the Cats last night. Last night's performance in the first 10 games may have resulted in only 2 losses at this point.

What we lose in defense from the Center position against opposing centers doesn't put us out of games, it actually keeps us in striking distance for victories. Plus the opposing teams HAVE to guard our Bigs, which has it's affects over the course of an entire game. As long as our Bigs stay below the FT line on Defense we should be fine.

As for Jarron, he reminds me of myself playing ball now. My mind knows what I want to do, but my body hasn't got the memo, and that is super frustrating. I give him five more games to knock off the rust only because of Tre Scott saying he told Jarron he believes in him. When your struggling it's refreshing to know your guys got your back no matter what.

I agree 100 percent. He was supposed to be mostly a mid major joke or a last ditch backup type. I don’t care what side of the fence someone is on about him. He’s not that...and that is a very nice surprise
Where did that line of thought originate ? This forum ? He was a quality player in the Horizon League and Conference Champion. Technically ball skill wise he's the best the Bearcats have seen in a while at the true Center position.

it came from he was recruiting by nku so theres no way he could have any talent.

i think thats as far as the thinking went.

Neither team played thier best game. Fortunately the foul trouble early In the 2nd half didn't come back to haunt. But vogt is very bad on defense not really seeing the bad is saying so it just is what it is. The only way this team has a chance is if Keith and jc can carry us with a sprinkle of Trey. In any affect the SEC is overrated as a basketball conference.

I watched him play at nku and he was terrible. I think that’s where most of it comes from. People watched him play and the fact that he wasn’t playing well at nku.

There was a lot of worry going around pre season about both Vogt and Sorolla because they didn't do much at lesser programs. I was worried about them as well just not to the degree as some others. But they have far exceeded my expectations.

They are going to demand some attention on D and that should be a big help for the guards.

I absolutely don't think UC played their A game last night. Just from turnovers alone it wasn't the best they could play.

There's room to play better than they played, and thats a great sign.

We are 296th in Tunovers right now and 265th in steals. Turn those numbers into just average and it will change some games. We have shooters, slashers and bigs who can score. Jarron hasn't played well. We saw just a little spark from him before he fouled out that gave me some hope he's on his way back.

Playing against a good D I don't expect us to score like that every time but there are other areas to get better for sure.

We definitely hit some shots we can't really count on, mostly the Scott 3 and his long 2's off the bounce, however we shot 29 times at the rim.

We got a lot of easy looks against a good D that's for sure. If that's how the system works from here on out (or even close to it)...we can still make the dance. I would like to see some consistency to have some confidence our players are figuring it out.

Some interesting stuff in the post game presser. Brannen talked about what the Monday practice would look like following the Colgate game. It would show their character and the coaches. They had the best practice of the year followed up with another good one on Tuesday.

He mentioned a majority of the stuff they run is for Jarron and Vogt so when they went out players needed to step up and they did. I wonder how many plays they run for Keith and Jaevin?

He talked about buying into roles and if they each do that they will each have success in the roles the coaches ask of them. When they do it will be a well rounded scoring effort with 5 guys in double figures. There are obviously points out there for everyone to get when they do the stuff they are asked to do.

He mentioned there was a press play that they ran the first 6 times resulted in 6 turnovers! All four times in the first half and the first two of the 2nd half. I don't recall how many 10 second calls and 5 second calls we got but there were a few.

Interesting stuff...

They're playing the guys that should play. Minutes aren't given out based on loyalty these days, its about how you play.

Yep, it’s not middle school. People forget that coaches want to win more than any of us. They are going to play guys that help them win. They don’t care if they like them or not.

Is this your opinion or is there something behind this other than his minutes?

Guess, my belief is brannen wants diarra to transfer, nothing other than a gut feeling and I hope he does, good kid but not a good b-ball player best of luck to him though hopefully he proves me wrong.

He may need to play next yr if they don't land a backup big in the grad transfer pool...
