I think brannen is doing alright so far considering the weird circumstances but we need to see progression in the program in the next couple years. Is it hard to find good bigs to play at this level, yes. Also hard to find elite players that want to play in this conference. But that’s his job. That’s what great coaches do. They find ways to win when they aren’t supposed to.

On Diarra the reports are that he has a new born baby. So with the extra precautions and additional time away, plus the Covid risk, opting out is a reasonable precaution.

I hope he comes back next year, as I still say he has potential to be a star.

Nice try...

I doubt he comes back. It sucks, everyone loves dou, but he had 4 years to figure it out and aside from those 4 games, never really did. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a player go from barely playing for 3-4 years, to becoming a star. I hope he does. He really seems like a great person.

Agreed. He needs to find a good center. And that's very tough.

Curious what the twins bring. Surprised they can't sniff any minutes.

DD going for the James Harden step back three a few times today. To avoid a travel, he just has to keep from putting his hand under the ball until after the first step. I'm actually ok with him doing that in late clock situations. Gets something up, prevents a charge or live ball turnover, and keeps him back to defend the break.

I thought the performance today was very good despite Keith never mentally checking into the game, Vogt's stupid offensive fouls, and Rap looking embarrassingly overmatched for large portions of his time on the floor.

The redneck homer SEC refs didn't help our cause either.

If we beat Georgia, then the OOC will be considered a moderate success.

A 23 year old 5th year senior magically turning into a star...I respect his decision and wish him well

Yes, an athletic tall guy like him should be in the nba by now except he is awful at basketball.

Technically he'd be a 5th year Junior (this year doesn't count for anyone). I very much doubt his basketball career is over, but I doubt he will come back here.

Still, with how few bigs we are likely to have next year (assuming Rap and Vogt both choose not to come back, rumor is neither plans to), it's possible he will.

I mean Rap is a 6th year senior and you keep telling us that he will be better.

No, but I’m also not saying rap is going develop into a star. I have never said rap will get better, I’d rather let Eason and Davenport play the 4 and 5 and take our rebounding lumps to play athletic

I hope his career is not over by any means, I just think he would benefit by playing for a lower level team, Prince and Nsesome are both starting and playing well for there lower level teams

I would definitely rather have him than not. Just for a body. But I think it would be best for both parties to part ways. If he could go to a lower level, maybe he could get some get some success. Also brannen could use the scholarship on someone he wants.

I have a lot to say but it’s all been said before.

On the Dou stuff. I fully support him. He needs to do what he has to to protect his baby

I do think the 3-2 zone they whipped can get better if they work on it. You could tell it’s not something they’ve worked a ton on

Dou quitting in the team is weak.. I'm not buying the kid thing. Pretty sure he's known for a while he was going to have a kid.

BS dude.

A player who had Covid earlier in the summer just collapsed today.

I have a month old baby myself and I don’t hang out with friends anymore. It’s sucks but we stay home to one protect my pregnant wife & now to protect my newborn who can’t be vaccinated even when we have it bc of her age.

What a D bag thing to say.

Ban me or whatever but you’re a huge D bag for telling an unpaid athlete he shouldn’t do what he thinks is best. I mean after all this was the first road trip, maybe he or his partner or who ever wasn’t comfortable going to play a team who’s season opening games were all cancelled due to Covid.

Lol.

Last I checked this pandemic has been going on since last March? Maybe a discussion or two with his partner prior to the season starting?

This screams grad transfer took my minutes and I'm out.

He probably had that discussion. Dou made a personal decision that he feels is best. If you don't support him, you should keep that to yourself.
