I agree, the break does allow them to fully prepare for the game. I just question if they feel like they can win the game. (I would sure hope so bc why else play the game) I only have doubt because they have not faired well against any of the top teams. And I do not call an 8 point loss to ND a good showing by any means. This will be a long week to wait for a game, and even worse having it against the best team in the BE. I just do not see a mental or physical toughness with the players, especially the seniors. Sadly, if we haven't seen it yet, most likely we will not see it at all.
The offense is absolutely disgusting to watch. Anyone who knows/played basketball knows they do not do the offensive 101's correctly. Honestly, how hard is it to post up, make a post move and make a basket in the paint or get fouled? Double teamed? Okay, other players move around, dish it back out, shoot it, or pump fake go to the basket. Going to the basket and get stopped by a defensive player? Okay, then dish it back out and repeat. Is it really that hard to figure out? We can not drive to the basket properly bc we have our "bigs" up top all the time clogging up everything. No surprise we can't drive to the basket bc the defenders who play against our "bigs" are going to sag off when they are setting "screens". They are useless up there. A motion spread offense doesn't work when you have only 2 out of 5 people on the court who can actually drive to the hoop. It really is a joke.
