Also, yes the "verbal death threats" is trash talking. I guarantee you stuff like that is said in many games across the country. You think that they actually meant that stuff?!?

Sorry X players were talking trash and hurt UC players feelings, maybe we shouldn't allow trash talking if it hurts players feelings?

I actually thought Lyons trash talking was funny. Seriously bro? You're like 5'8", and you're talking shiz to Yancy Gates? Let's get real. If Lyons wants to get good then let's get hood. Yancy would smash that geeks face in.

Just watched it. (Well, until Mack got on. Still watching that...so maybe he said something more?)

If that is why everyone is mad they need to get thicker skin. I get it, in the Politically correct world we live in now they didn't do a good job. They are basketball players. Everyone hates the "PC" answer--they give honest answers about an emotional game...lighten up, everyone! sheeesh. Bottom line is they knew they were better players and they let UC know about it.

Lets be real, when you play hoops do you ever get pissed? 15 minutes after the game are you always over it? Xavier shouldn't have let them go to the press but it was hardly as bad as everyone thinks. They play with that kind of emotion- its why they are one of the top back courts in the country.

In the PC world we live in- everyone wants honest answers but the second they get them, they cry out because it wasn't "PC". Again, I get it, if you like that PC stuff they did a horrible job. It really wasn't that bad though.

This is my honest opinion. I know you guys will say its BS, but I don't really get worked up over what people say (on and off the court). the punching and fighting? thats Bogus, no part of that in the game. Talking? no big deal.

Dude, I think your just still a little too upset that your favorite team just got absolutely manhandled on national tv by their rival. It's funny, most UC fans are upset at the sucker punch, you seem to have thought Frease deserved it. Speaks volumes IMO.

Instead of worrying about UC, why don't you worry about how X is going to keep their gangsters in check. At least the rest of the country finally got to see what a piece of trash Holloway is. Now he gets to add instigating a bench clearing brawl and embarrassing his university with his post game comments to his other fine moments like trying to attack the officials, vandalism, and throwing a punch in the game last year.

I don't know maybe I'm the only one, but just cause it's a rivalry doesn't mean it's okay to make a fool of yourself and taunt the entire coaching staff on the bench. This is college, not professional basketball. Let me know if you ever see Kendall Marshall taunt Coach K and company, or Ashton Gibbs show up Jim Boeheim like that.

I don't know I guess I'm more of a guy that likes class, and not someone who draws attention to themselves.

THANK YOU! I was going to mention this as well.

And I think you got something there with the second part. I mean, Tu did say that's their team motto so maybe that's how all these kids with questionable grades get into Xavier and have no problem graduating. Lyons also might pull the "You know where I'm from? We don't take that where I'm from!" as well.

I'll admit that. He was. His post game comments were a joke. Honestly, I don't care if you're an XU homer or not. Lyons would get DESTROYED by Gates. I'm talking Gates would collapse Lyons' face. It wouldn't even be a fight. Gates would get arrested immediately after for decimating Lyons.

Best player on the court today no doubt. Also the biggest clown in the arena.

This could be interesting if it is legit.
The saddest thing about the press conference is tu saying they are gangsters and that their motto is to zip them up. Those are really screwed up things to say. Zip them up? Does that mean to get into a fight with everyone? Its also disturbing how lightly Mack took the situation. Not that in this moment UC is much classier but X is about as low as you can go and I am glad we don't have these three "gangsters" as the face of our program.

I'm not going to get into the fight per say, but I do want to comment on the aftermath and how it was handled. While Mick came out strongly, Chris Mack, Xavier, and Shannon Russell ran and hid from this. They are looking for escape routes to minimize what happened. I hope everyone remembers last season when Tu Holloway threw a punch in frustration that never landed. I hope people remember the water fountain being torn from Butler's wall when Xavier visited there. I hope they remember Crawford and Lyons talking trash to UC coaches last visit to Cintas.

This is behavior that Chris Mack has allowed to go unchecked for years. This is a perfect illustration that winning matters but so does how you win. Holloway and Lyons sounded like gang members in uniforms after the game. Tu told Shannon Russell to tweet they just put UC in an F'ing body bag. Thugs no...PUNKS yes!

Props to Mick for how he came out strongly and promised quick punishment. If this is what this game has become it is time to end it.

Is this really what you think is happening? What has happened to sportsmanship? Look at the history of this X group and Crawford. Tearing water fountains off walls, taunting coaches. Tu threw a punch that didn't land last season at UC. There is a pattern here and it's not good. This goes beyond a game.

There's a huge difference in trash talking and what Tu and Lyons did. Michael Jordan talked non stop. He didn't get in peoples faces and and go chest to chest. Surprised you don't see the difference in good natured trash talk and what they do.

Yes I thought it classless and I was glad he didn't come back. Why do you guys excuse this? All the Lance talk aside, one doesn't excuse the other. Go tear a water fountain off, no suspension. Tu threw a punch last year, overlooked. I hated the rep that this school got under the Huggins years. Xavier used to conduct itself with some class.
