Yes things where thrown in the direction of the court during a timeout... mostly t shirts that didn't make it to the court... Uc made an announcement saying please refrain from throwing things onto the court

Oh man, t-shirts? I hope nobody was hit in the head with one of those things, our fan base is reckless....

You guys realize that Cincinnati only made 3 field goals the last 10 minutes of the game right? Most of the points came on free throws (16-18 from the line down the stretch). Lousivlle was called for more fouls too. The refs were horrible but in the end probably benefited Cincinnati more than Louisville. Only a blind homer would think otherwise.

Lets not forget though that Louisville fouls almost every possession. They foul on the perimeter, they foul on the drive, and they foul at the rim. The first half there were so many missed calls going to the basket. They were bad on both ends no doubt but Louisville gets away with much more vs almost anyone they play. Tough to score a basket when you are getting fouled your entire possession. That's why its so important to get that tone set early in the game as a referee. It didnt happen yesterday and UC had to overcome it. Fell one point short.

Can anybody that was at the game clarify this for me? A couple people on Twitter yesterday said UC fans were "throwing crap all over the court" at the end of the game. Any truth to this? Since it's only a person or two mentioning it, I have to assume one guy threw a cup and haters are just looking to stir drama about our fan base.

No, not at the end of the game. Saw Louisville fans made a topic about throwing stuff at their bench after the game on their forum. That never happened. Students were throwing some t-shirts at the refs after the no-call when Shaq was laying on the ground hurt.

I said the same thing in an earlier post. The refs were blowing the whistle on Louisville alot in the second half. There were two just blatantly horrible calls, bad enough that the league had to issue a statement about them, but other than that, the refs kept us in the game. Had we not gotten to the line we would've never been in that game.

There was during the timeout and then after the game there were a coule I saw thrown too. Mostly T's from what I saw. Wish they would've thrown me one.

Biggest issue today with refs.
Blown calls happen... the ticky tack fouls on the perimeter and the murders row In the lane. There simply can't be that big of a difference.

Pitino is a loser, on the court all game. If I'm a player on running him over... one of the few that is glad uc ul done, can't stand him.

Not quite done yet. We'll see them in the AAC championship, and we will be pumped for that one

Do you think that the re-reversal call would have happened at the YUM center? No way, if it did, major riots. They wouldn't call a T on Harrell for knocking the ball out of Rubles hands and after hanging on the rim multiple times.

Yes. It would have been called there too. Cincinnati got a couple of gift calls at the Yum Center as well. Quit whining.

A couple of gift calls is different than a 7 minute re-reversal. Not a chance that ever happens at UL.

You are welcome to believe that but it just simply isn't true. I don't really feel too bad about the game, mostly because Louisville played a lot better than Cincinnati. They deserved to win, IMO.

2 of my predictions were right (horrific call and things thrown on court) but not on the call that mattered (winning the game).

All in all, the basketball gods owe us a clutch buzzer beater win. I hope it comes in March.

Jackson's quick 2 fouls, along with getting no calls in the first half the few times they did go to the basket, resulted in some bad first half offense. UL could get called for 40 fouls a game if the refs call everything. They started to call more in the second half and UC took advantage of it with the FT shooting.

Guyn must get better taking care of the ball if he's going to be the primary ball handler next year without SK. I could actually see Troy starting at the 1 and Guyn at the 2 next year.

" deserved to win"
That's just not true they needed a game winner and questionable calls. Montrezl should have been in foul trouble just like jj, he almost broke shaqs wrist, hacked rubles, and ran backwards to score and didn't get called for any of it. We are the better team and will show it in the AAC tourny

We were thoroughly out played Bateman.[/QUOT

Strange game. UC shoots 29% and nearly wins...should of won. They outrebound UL in spite of JJ nearly missing the entire first half. They showed the heart that will serve them well in March. For the last time, the refs did not cost UC the game, but they certainly overly influenced it. We could argue all day on the out of bounds play but the fact is in 41 years of watching college basketball I have never seen what happened happen nor it take over 7 minutes to make a decision. Both games when Cincinnati had momentum the refs stole that away. It simply shouldn't be that way. That said, take Harrells head off and put him on the line at the end of the game and you win.

And btw, Troy Caupain had no turnovers in 18 minutes. SK had 5 and GG had 4 in 22 minutes. That's 9 of the 13 UC had for the game.

I think he's just saying Louisville played better than us, and thats not debatable. We played awful, so I'm actually encouraged that we could play that poorly and still be in a position to win.

I'm not sure anyone could say that UL played a lot better than UC or that UC played a lot better than UL unless your arguments are the refs were the reason why. It was a one point game that ended on a last second shot. How in the hell did UL play a lot better than UC? They pretty much played equally.

That is exactly what I am saying. Louisville completely took UC out what they wanted to do offensively. Remember, we shot over 60% in the second half of the last game...so I am sure Pitino wasn't not about to allow that to happen again. They were terrific defensively.

Actually, this reminded me a lot of the Big East Championship game we played against Louisville. I see similar ceilings for both teams: UC is Sweet 16 good and UofL is Final Four good...

The officials definitely helped UC score points at the end. I don't they would have broken 50 without some of the touch fouls that were called down the stretch.

Statistically outside of rebounding and and foul shooting UL outplayed UC but that's not all there is to a game. Intangibles play a huge part in a game and that's why the Bearcats were there at the end. To me the way things went, it almost seemed fated that they weren't going to win. Every watershed moment went UL's way.
