"The #Bearcats are ranked 7th! UConn is at 22nd. Get ready for Thursday, folks. #BeatUConn"

I love it!!!

This is so awesome! #7 is higher than I thought which is a nice surprise. We gotta get through this week and then we can finally get some rest. If we can win both games this week...watch out. I can't believe I am thinking of a #2 seed in the NCCA tourney. Great day to be a bearcat!

ya whats also sweet is there are 4 in top ten from aac 3 of which are not leaving atleast not yet and smu is close to getting votes as well. I been saying it for a year but i think the AAC is the best thing happened to our sports programs and we didnt even realize it. U have take acc if they offer us to come on money alone but as far as winning and being on the national stage the aac is where its at. Think about it like this would u like to be middle of pack most years or be the team in the aac id rather be the team instead of one of the teams

I noticed that too. I was amazed Memphis didn't drop after losing to SMU; that shows me that the voters are starting to respect SMU as well. They check in at #29 with 15 votes.

I agree. I can't lie either..when I look at the ACC conference standings and see all those teams, I just shake my head. Now add UL to that mix, its just ridiculous.

Not that it's relevant to us, but I believe our #7 ranking is the highest Xavier has ever been ranked. I know they reached that high in 2008 when they were 9-0 right before they got absolutely spanked by Duke. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I can't find their all-time highest ranking anywhere.

The American has proved to have a much stronger top than I anticipated. I know none of us want this to happen but if UC were to lose to SMU, the league would have 5 teams ranked. I think even if UConn lost to UC they'd hang on at 25. That is very strong.

I don't remember them being that high in 2009, but you may be right. I know they were #8 the week after the brawl in 2011, and I don't remember them ever being higher.

Can't help but think back to Conf USA days when top ten ranking was the norm. Kudos to Mick and staff for working so well with this group so far...ultimately the rankings on feb 3 are irrelevant for NCAA seeds, so we can't afford to slip up in the next month...nice to look at the future and see even brighter days ahead in AAC.

This is the first time since 1999 and 2000 that UC Basketball has reached a top 10 ranking in back to back years.

Predictions for the polls tomorrow? I can't imagine they fall to any worse than 10, maybe 11. A home win vs a ranked team, and a loss on the road in a game they were not favored and against a team that will now be ranked (albeit by a lot).

#15 Texas lost- won't pass UC
#14 Louisville- idle
#13 St. Louis beat LaSalle by 2- probably won't pass UC but will be close
#12 Creighton plays @ Jonnies today
#11 Duke- will pass UC b/c they are Duke (and their playing well)
#10 Michigan lost- won't pass UC
#9 Michigan State plays @ Wisconsin today
#8 Kansas- will pass UC

If both Creighton and MSU win, Cincinnati will probably be #12, slightly ahead of St. Louis.

If one of Creighton/MSU loses, Cincinnati will probably be #11

If both of them loses, Cincinnati will probably be #10

ya i say say about 10 or 11, i would love to stay in top 10, but no big deal. I think uc has earned the voters respect
