He has had MSU at #4 for a few weeks now. His argument is there have so many injuries that they are hard to judge. It took a buzzer beater to beat them without their starting PG...

UC comes in at #10 in the AP. SMU #23.

AP Top 25 teams by conference:
#AAC: 5
#B1G: 5
#ACC: 4
#Big12: 3
#SEC: 2
#BigEast: 2

After taking a loss we only fell back 3 spots in the polls. Meanwhile a win over UC vaulted SMU into the polls for the first time in 3 decades and a loss to UC only dropped UConn 2 spots from 22nd to 24th.

That verifies to me that UC is getting a lot of respect right now from the voters.

Thanks for pointing this out. You are totally right in your thoughts on this. What a difference a few weeks can make in terms of respect. I know losses are never great but I do think that the loss coming into a week off for the team gives them the chance to regroup and refocus to excel during this stretch run into March. Prior to the start of conference play I would have been happy with a split against SMU, UL, UConn, and Meph. Now a few sweeps are certainly possible. I am just still so proud of this team and coach and can't wait to see what they do!

I think this is a good counter to people noting the low conference RPI of the AAC compared to other conferences. If half your league is in the top 25 at this point in the season then you have a pretty good league.

Kansas lost at Kansas State in OT and beat TCU at home. He moved them up from #7 to #6.

SDSU lost at Wyoming and beat Air Force. He only dropped them one spot.

Makes absolutely zero sense to me.

Bearcats #7 in AP poll today. Tied for highest rank for UC ever under Mick Cronin.

Man I love the single digit ranking, 7th is big time, they deserve it. Louisville is ranked 11th in ap, probly in top ten of coaches, wow that's going to be a showdown on Saturday in front of the whole nation on cbs, but first let's beat central. This year has been special, and will continue deep into march!

UCF will be geeked up to play the #7 ranked team in the country. We got the bulls eye on our backs. Especially since their players specifically said in the post game they felt that they should have won the first time in Cincy. We get through that game and Saturday will be epic!

That was the USF players that said that after the first time we played them.
But I get what your saying.

Highest ranking was by two writers that each had us at #4. Lowest ranking was by Cecil Hurt who covers Alabama sports had us ranked at #18.

P.S. He has Louisville ranked #6 in the same poll. Bulletin board material?
