Game is Wednesday night at 9 PM EST on CBS Sports.

Tulsa is 12-8 and 6-2 in AAC. They are #114 on KenPom.

I'm guessing we'll be -8.

They have 10 new players this year. And don't forget, they're being coached by Frank Haith...

UC 72
Tulsa 57

They are #154 AdjO, #91 AdjD, #111 AdjT. They're toast no matter what if we bring it. That Tempo tells me we'd out execute the crap out of them in a slow game, and the AdjO tells me we'd run them out in a fast game.

We *should* be fine here, but Tulsa has actually played pretty well lately. Currently 3rd in the conference and 5-1 in their last 6, including double-digit wins over UCF and Memphis. Also beat Temple on the road. Guessing we very mildly regress and win a relatively ugly one, something like 65-55.

82-65 Bearcats. I've predicted 82 points every game since the beginning of January. They haven't lost yet. Why stop now? 👍🏻

If it ain't broke...

I think we're starting to develop a really nice offense flow. We're hitting enough 3's to keep defenses honest and our inside game with Gary and Kyle is very efficient. We rebound well, defend well and don't turn the ball over much. I also don't see much chance of a low energy game because we've got too many spark plugs on this team to let that happen (Kyle, Jennifer, Scott, etc.).

In other words, we're currently a handful for lesser teams.

UC - 71
Tulsa - 60

Go Cats!

Agreed. Haith will challenge Cronin for AAC Coach of the year, IF they continue to win. They have a tough schedule the next 6 games UC, SMU, @Mem., Hou, @UCF and @UC. They have 10 new players after losing 6 of top 7 scorers from last year's NCAA tourney team. This won't be an easy game IMO.

Some Quick Notes on Tulsa:

Where Tulsa Excels:

** Getting to the free throw line: Maybe its a staple of Fran Haith teams, but he also seems to have guys who are good at penetrating and drawing fouls. This team does just that.

** Defense: I wouldn't call Tulsa a good or great defensive team but they do everything on defense at a pretty executable live. They defend the 3 well and even better at defending the 2 point shot. They don't generate a lot TO, so its mostly about just forcing up bad shots. That said, they have played the 181st ranked offensive SOS.

Where they struggle:
** Turnovers: Tulsa turns the ball over 22% of the time which is good for 321st in the country. We may want to step out and really pressure this team to force more possessions.

** Getting blocked on offense 14% of their shots gets blocked. Which is also 300 something in the country. Kyle, Gary and Nysier (assuming he plays) should have a field day.

This is a mega super young team that plays hard and is overachieving a bit right now. Their offense is way behind their defense.

Only 2 players on Tulsa's roster saw minutes against UC last year..

UC fans will remember: Pat Birt
He scored 13 points in each game against us last year but went from being an extremely reliable 3 point shooter last year (37%) down to a 32% shooter this year.

My guess is that he went from being his teas 3rd option to their first and no longer has those 2 really good guards creating easy looks for him.

Assuming we come ready to play, we should by 15-20.. and if we don't we should still win by 5.

Lets keep it rolling

I'm going to say UC, 68-64. Road game, hot team. I think Tulsa jumps out to an early lead, UC struggles to hit shots, and in the 2nd half experience takes over & they grind it out. A lot of people complain about it during & after.

Cant believe this team is even competing after losing that many players last year. We should win this game convincingly, however on the road in college basketball ya never know. I know they are third in our league, but there's a lot of drop from the first 2 in our conference to the rest.

Real curious to see the spread on this game.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this the game one of their players made a 3/4 length shot right before the halftime buzzer sounded? We also had a chance to win it at the buzzer but Evans missed a wide open corner jumper after a drive and dish by TC. Need to go in there and take care of business. SMU is not going away it looks like. need to hold our 1 game edge.

I know Shaq stole a pass in overtime and shot a corner 3 and missed it that would have won us the game. Yes, before halftime I think they made a half court shot too. What a season of bad luck last year.

Went back and watched the highlights of this game. Harrison and Woodard penetrated the crap out of our defense.

They ate through the matchup zone:

This new team scores a very high percentage of their points from the free throw line. Haith loves to recruit athletic guys who get into the lane

This has trap game written all over it imo. I have no idea how but Tulsa is playing pretty well. Better believe they will be hyped up to play the #14 team in the country. Not to mention, we have been playing a lot of games on short rest. This will be quite a test for our team. I just hope we continue to attack the basket. Good things happen when we do. I just feel like this is going to be a stressful game to watch.

Yea I'll be concerned if the game is in the 60's like last year

I agree. This has trap written all over it. need to get this one and head home for 2 straight at home.

I wouldn't say we're on short rest in this one. Sunday was like a practice. The starters didn't play that much. I think we'll be fine in that regard. Tulsa isn't very good. I know it's a road game, but we're better than we were last year and they're worse. They are 49 spots worse in KenPom and we're 18 spots better. That will show through if we play our game. The Houston game was much more difficult than this one I think.
