After another miserable sports week for the city of Cincinnati, I am even more excited for the game tomorrow night. I am anxious to see if this team is ready to take it to the next level. Maybe I am too optimistic, but I have been saying that I have a feeling this year could be special. I am assuming the starters will be cash, dixon, bishop, thomas, and gates, and I am comfortable with this. I would have liked to see more from bishop offensively in the exhibition games, but the most important thing is for him to continue to be a good defender. I hope the cats come out tomorrow night and make a statement. It is awesome having college basketball back in session.
Go Bearcats!

I desperately need something to cheer about after my sports weekend (Colerain alumni and fan) for the locals...

Best time of the year!

I could watch these videos all day long. It's time for some new highlights...

I don't have to watch these videos to watch those videos. I see what game it is and can play it out in my memory. We had some great games the last 20 years. It's time we get some more! Hopefully, tonight starts a new era for the Bearcats!!

That DePaul game I had to watch on tape because I was working that night. So I watched it the next day and didn't give up on it even though it was on tape and I could've fast forwarded it. That's how you know you're a diehard.

One of my favorite moments from last year.

Hard to belive.

It is really hard for me to believe Biggie Mclain was a top 100 player in high school. He is truely terrible. He should never even get into a game. Justin Jackson will be a good player. He hustles on every play and will eventually help this team. Cash is terrible, I'd like to had seen him before his injury.
Why is Wilks still on this team? Why is Larry Davis still on this team? Rashad Bishop acts like he don't wanna be on this team. Dixon is an alright player, nothing special. I would only keep the bottom six players. Next year seems to be a good recruiting year, but it seemed good 4 years ago too. Where's Kelvin Gaines?

Starting Lineup

C Gates
F Thomas
F Jackson
G Kilpatrick
G Parker

Coming off the bench
G Dixon

I agree that Davis shouldn't see any time this year, but thats about all I agree with. Biggie has been a bust, no doubt about it. But he is showing signs of minor contributions this year and will get 5 min a game, about all we will need from him. Cash will be good, he just needs to relax and play a bit more calmly than he has been playing. You can't throw a player under the bus for one bad game to begin the year. I wish Bishop never would have been reinstated by Cronin. I think he is a huge liability on offense and his defense is way overrated. The only thing he has going for him is his free throw shooting. As for Dixon, he also had a bad game, from what we have seen from him this year so far I think he will turn it around and average 10+ pts a game. Here is how I see the lineup and min.

G- Cash- 25 min
G- Killa- 30 min
G- Dixon- 30 min
F- Gates- 33 min
F- Thomas- 30 min

Bench:
G- Parker- 15 min
G- Bishop- 10 min
F- JJ- 25 min
F- Wilks- 8 min

I just saw your post stamp at the bottom of your posts. Pretty funny and true... you'd think the BCT basketball team could beat the Lakers if the game lived up to the hype... :D

Exactly what i was thinking. You stole it word for word. The only difference is i dont think Dixon is going to do anything at all.. Damn good post...

We have gone over this before but Jackson is not and never will be a three. Also, can someone please explain to me why Parker is the greatest thing since sliced bread at the PG spot? He isn't a true point but is the best backup option. He is better suited as the off guard. For this team to be successful, Cash will have to be a solid PG. You are more likely to see the following line-up than what you posted:

G Cash
G Dixon
F SK
F Gates
F Thomas

Bench: Bishop
Parker
Jackson
Wilks
Biggie

for reasons that defy me, Davis has been in the game before Kilpatrick in both exhibitions and and the first game. i am a mick supporter, but i really wish he would be eliminated from the rotation. he is a walking mistake.

Jaquon can run the point better then Cash. It's just that simple of an answer for me.

Cash is out of control. Still plays like he is the fastest player on the court, but he isn't anymore. Horrible passing. I think one hit off the side of the back board the other night. He had more turnovers then assists. Parker is also better on defense.

I think this offense would benefite more with Parkers calm play. I thought the same last year.

Agree. I don't like seeing Davis on the floor either.

Cash still is the fastest player on the floor and I agree that he was out of control the other night but I still feel he is the best PG to get this team into transition. Of course, if he continues to run the break as poorly as he did the other night, I will start to lose faith. I am not ready to after one game. I think Parker is okay at the point but I feel like the pace of the game changes for the worst when he is running things. He is just more of a deliberate player. He is a better positional defender for sure. Cash still lets too much penetration too easily. He does have great hands though and can cause turnovers and get the game into an up tempo style. I think he will be fine and I look for him to play much better Saturday.

Parker is not better on defense overall. If you noticed, when Parker was on the floor, there was no press. Vaughn was faster than Parker. Parker is built and has the skill set to play the 2 or the 3 in a 3guard lineup. Cash is hands down the fastest guy on the floor. Parker is not able to stay in front of an above average in speed PG. Cash's pressure defense is going to be what makes the press work this year. This was evident in the exhibitions and the first game.

Love Jaquon but he isn't a pg. He is a stop gap. He will be steady and reliable but isn't the answer. He is playing point because outside of Cash there isnt anyone else who can. Again, there was a reason Mick tried so hard to sign a pg.

JP's future is on the wing. His skill set better suited there.
