UC Look Out-Coached

Players are held accountable, to some extent. Gates isn't playing as much as he should, Cash hit the bench, as did Davis. Each individual must answer to himself and team captains should be pushing each other to exceed. I'm not sure how much of that is occuring, or at least is succeeding.
The biggest problem is that you can't fire players, only coaches.

UC used to be the team embarrassing whoever stepped on the court with them. Now they’re embarrassing themselves by stepping on the court.

I don’t know why I’m surprised this season turned out the way it did. Every year, Cronin-coached teams have underachieved, but he was given a pass because they were young, inexperienced and rebuilding.

That might be true, but a consistent lack of effort has been a constant every year since Cronin’s arrival.

Ultimately, Cronin has to be responsible for it. If he knew when he recruited his players they didn’t play with any sort of passion, then why recruit them? If he didn’t know they lacked effort, it’s his job to pull the effort out of them.

Four years is plenty of time.

I agree this looks bad that this kid is bashing his own school.

But again don't attack him cause his opinion is different than your so called highler level of basketball IQ. He really does make some good points.

Did you read what he said about the football team? I am not attacking him because his view is different, I am attacking the fact that he throws his own school under the bus and whats worse is the school paper allows it to happen. While I am not arguing he doesnt bring up some good points, I can guarantee this guy knows nothing about basketball or football. This seems to be a growing problem with our media in general. People are allowed to voice their "opinions" even though they have no background in the given area. It would be like me bashing some sport I know nothing about, but because I look up some statistics and draw up a random conclusion that my opinion should matter to said sport. Even though I would have no idea about the sport in general!

It is a bad article. The same thing is being discussed on BCN. It is all opinionated.

Basically the kid's job is to cause debate about what he reports, the same thing happens on the radio all the time, they make a statement that causes anger so people call in the dispute it. Unfortunatly for UC, the kid was right about BK.

Yea I mean agree the kid looks like he can't walk and chew gum.

Kind of reminds me of John Clayton commenting on the NFL though. I highly doubt he knows how to put shoulder pads on, but still brings up intersting facts. Not saying I agree with this kid, but take what you can from the article and leave him be. I'm sure he dreamt of playing sports

If you are gonna write an article for everyone to see and want credibility then be intelligent! I am amazed at the amount of people that don't understand the REAL WORLD situation that UC is in.

They are strapped for cash, just extended Cronin last summer and can't afford to buy him out. Like it or not Mick is the coach for the next 2 years for sure. If he doesn't give results in those 2 years the university might let him go.

If you reply to this saying they need to get rid of him then please have an intelligent response. Tell me how they afford to pay him and how they can throw money at a coach to lure him here.

In NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM should we ever be interested in Mike Davis as our coach. That would be a gigantic downgrade. Mike Davis will never be able to recruit in the Big East, and he is not a good coach. I know he beat Mick twice so dont use that as your rationale that he is a better coach than Mick.

I actually think Mike Davis could be a good hire, if UC is really going to get rid of Mick. Didn't davis take IU to the national championsihp game? That is pretty impressive.
