I can't wait for Saturday. I've heard from a lot of people who are worried about this game and think it's going to be a close battle, I honestly don't see it.

I think this is easily the most talented team we've had since the undefeated season. Purdue is a bad team and they're coming to our house. I think we roll em...........

UC - 34
Purdue - 13

24-10 Bearcats. Don't know how I feel about Tuberville's offense yet, but I think the combination of Purdue's awful offense and our pretty good defense will shut them down.

So do they.

I realize that but it's not like that somehow makes the questions surrounding ours go away. You can't just assume everything will click on our end regardless. I think we'll win, I just can't be certain by how much.

Ready for the game today!! This will set the tone for the whole season. Not crazy about the helmets, but the white C-paw on the white helmet is kind of interesting. Can't wait to see the boys take the field. Hopefully the clouds stick around all day and I don't get sunburned out there.

I'll going also! Anyone else who is going, make sure you leave early, 37,000 people around Clifton can cause a hell of a lot of congestion. I'm hoping my seats are next to someone who is small-usually I have no problems, but one year I was next to a legit 300 pound guy. My seat was on the end of the aisle, so half of me was on my seat and they other half was forced to lean out into the aisle. I was so sore for a few days.....

Purdue 23 UC 14

I am an enthusiastic reader of yours, Ralph, as you seem to enjoy a lively discussion and thought provoking questions (really). Just curious as to what your read is now that the game was played and the results were in. Do you still believe UC is going to come in at 8-4 ? What about Illinois ?

Obviously, Purdue did not show up for the game, they got down early and quit. Once again beating a Big 10 team on their home turf, Illinois, is no given win as the Big 10 schools have too many recruiting advantages over non Power 5 conference schools. Last year Purdue took ND down to the wire and Ohio State to overtime. Being a bad Big 10 team is analogous to being the poorest resident of Indian Hill, you are still better off than being the richest resident of Norwood. The article in the Enquirer today about starting 9-0 was very presumptuous, I still predict 8-4, if the Cats can get by Illinois I will up it to 9-3. All the other schools on the schedule, except Northwestern State, have 85 scholarship players.

I will be shocked if Cincinnati loses more than one game before the showdown against Louisville. The schedule is just too easy.

I don't care what conference Purdue and Illinois are in. They are simply not as talented as Cincinnati. Illinois just beat a Division I-AA school by 8 points. Cincinnati WILL blow them out in Urbana.

Northwestern State is a Division I-AA school and Miami hasn't been good in 3 years. I expect both of those games to be blowouts as well.

And the AAC looked horrible last week. Connecticut and South Florida got blown out by I-AA schools. Rutgers gave up 52 points in a loss. Temple put up 6 points against an overrated Notre Dame defense. SMU lost by 18 to a Texas Tech team Cincinnati would beat 4 out of 5 times, easily. Houston beat a I-AA school, which doesn't tell me much except that they aren't as bad as UConn and USF. And don't tell me Memphis is magically going to turn in to a 10-win team this season.

Cincinnati, Louisville, and UCF are the only AAC teams that impressed me in week 1, and we don't even play UCF this season. 8-4? Please. Butch Davis' 4-8 team from his first season could have won 8 games against this schedule. 10-2 at the absolute worst.
