I honestly don't know much about the Friars. All I know they have three scorers that makes their team go, Cotton and Council with Batts being a strong big man. I watched the game when they played UCONN and it was clear those three players makes them a good team. I see this game being similar to the Seton Hall game, except I don't see us having a 20 point lead at anytime.

If we pull this game out, it will be absolutely huge for us coming home for a 3 game home stand. To be honest, I am on the fence on this game because it will be tough but I will give our team the edge. We know how to play on the road but I just hope we are a little more consistent on offense, meaning no serious scoring droughts.

This game scares me, I've watched Providence play on TV a few times recently and they're pretty solid. They have a knack for keeping the game close no matter their opponent. We're going to have to play a good game to get the win, another mediocre effort (SHU, DePaul, ect) isn't going to get the job done against the Friars. Luckily I think Cashmere and Parker are due for strong games.

If Mbodj continues to play the way he has recently and gives us somewhat of a presence inside I think we'll fare pretty well. We cannot play like we did in the second half against Seton Hall and expect to win. I say Mbodj continues his play, Cash and SK do what they do and Jaquon will have about 10(hopefully). Overall I think it'll be close but the Cats pull out the win.

I am worried about this game because Providence can score the basketball. They play pretty well at home too. UC will need to be able to score and avoid long droughts.

We def. can not give up all the "and 1" plays like we did against SH. I think at one point in the 2nd half the announcer said SH had 7 and 1's. Way too many and that means way to soft. Providence is a pretty good rebounding team as well so that will be huge to eliminate their 2nd chance points.

This is tough one to predict. Providence has had some bad losses (Brown & DePaul) but hung tough with Syracuse and Pitt (losses) and beat Nova twice. Looking at their stats they go about 10 players deep. I'm going with the Cats 68-60.

I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere but the Enquirer quotes Cronin as saying that Davis will be redshirted.

76-54. Solid debut by Lawrence: 15 pts, 8 rbs, 2 blk on 6/10 shooting. Wait, that's not till next year?

In all seriousness, I'll go with 71-59. Tight game until UC pulls away in the lasts few minutes, and the FTs from fouls in the last minute make the game not look as close as it was.

Yes, Davis is redshirted "barring a major injury" Cronin said postgame Saturday.

Providence is ok but not anywhere near our level. Uc by 10-15.

I am 18-4 on predictions this year(should be 20-2 if it weren't for the refs). After this game I will be 19-4

this game really worries me because providence is a streaky team and they seem to play everyone tough there. had 8-10 pt lead on cuse in 2nd half, took UConn to OT, and played pitt close as well. hopefully, al of those close losses put a damper to their spirits.

Like all BE games we need this one. It is winnable and it helps us keep pace with a bunch of teams. I'm sure Mick is making sure our guys know this. Friars are atheletic but can be forced into turnovers. We have alot more depth and that will make the difference. Cats by double digits.

I think it will be like most of the games this season. The cats will keep it close in the first half, and be down by 2 or three. They will bring the intensity in the second half and they will win by 7 when it looks like they should have won by 15... A win is a win and this team is a bunch of road warriors!

Council had 29 points in last years meeting against us. We must contain this guy because he also has more threats this year. Watching the UCONN game last week, Providence thrived in their transition game. I hope we slow them down and pressure the heck out of them. Mick said we will need to score over 70 points to win, so lets see if our offense can be efficient.

GameDay is finally here! I am nervous as all heck about the outcome because the past few years this is a game we usually lose. I really want us to win because 7-3 looks a hell lot better than 6-4. And we need it to keep pace.
