UC vs. Syracuse

I think Cash wasn't 100% but most of all, we were very tentative going to the basket. I hope this and the days leading up to the Rutgers game lights a fire in em. They're good and that defense won't let us lose bad against anyone.
I give credit to Mbodj, I think that was the most aggressive I've seen him(Sans the Carter dunk but I can understand that one).
Jackson, Rubles and Parker showed off their passing. I wish SK would just take over and I wish Cash would have looked for something else.

Didn't know what to expect. We played great but I don't feel glad that we ALMOST beat them.

You don't know what to expect, yet you're telling people to raise their expectations? I expected it to be a competitive toss up, it was. Expectations met.

it seemed like Cash did not have legs under his shot in the second half...very proud of the Bearcats' performance today...hope they keep the momentum moving...would love to have a big man like Syracuse that one-hand dunks from behind on the rim on the baseline...Mbodj played what i thought was his best game, minus the embarrassing cower from a SG driving the lane...the break should help the team recover and rejuvenate, especially Cash...
Go Bearcats!

Nobody's HAPPY that we lost. We are all well aware that we very easily could've won today. Would you have felt the same if we lost be 30? Seriously? In the regular season, it really isn't as black and white as a win and a loss. In the NCAA Tournament, then of course, you just want to win. But this is preparation for March, and we hung in there all game and it came down to the wire against a National Chanmpionship contender. It's okay to be positive once in a while, it has nothing to do with "settling".

We got outscored 13-4 in the final minutes of the game. That's the ball game. Beyond frustrating but I am proud how they played that second half. That rest til Rutgers will be good for them. It will be an interesting February and March that's for sure.

I'll bite. I think my biggest fear as a fan is settling. That mindset kills programs IMO. You make a good point though, I guess there were some takeaways from this.

I dont think you ever should celebrate a loss. However to say there were no positives to take away from today is absolutely short sighted. College basketball is all about March and I think this team took a big step toward the team they have the potential to be. We are going to the dance and when we get there the season starts a new. You just want the highest seed possible and have your team clicking on all cylinders. This team is elite on the defensive side of the ball. If they play offense the way they played in the second half of today's game this team will be one of the hardest outs in March in the field of 64. Thats what its all about and I think that is where the positive is in today's game. Next 6 games are very winable. Lets go on a run. Proud of the guys today!

Guys I am heartsick we lost and the way we lost. How does Kilpatrick not touch the ball? He has to want the ball in that situation and go get it. Mick said the plan was for Mbodji to flash high and pass but he never flashed. The team played tentative down the stretch and it was a game they gave away. However, there is a reason Syracuse has the nations longest win streak at home. UC played well enought to win, the Syracuse guards made big plays and won the game.

That said I did see positives. I've noticed Rubles really making strides the last 2 games. I really believe by March he is going to be a big factor for UC. I think Jackson has put 2 decent games together as well. Cheikh can contribute if he will be a little agressive offensively. I thought in the second half he was better. He still needs to finish stronger. Many are going to disagree but I see positive signs in subtle ways with the offense. The Cats simply aren't making shots. This team is going to be very good come March. I'm going on record with that right now. They still need a bench scorer and to take less 3s but I'm saying by March this team is going to be very good.

Ha that it is! I like the way you think Ralphy. Might as well make a buck on the choke job.

That's a choke? I could have swore it was just a close loss.
Not like we were ahead by 20...
Again trying to provoke a response. Obvious troll is obvious. Hey, how about that talent we don't have to compete with the leagues best? ...
Why weren't you talking about that when we beat Marquette, which was one of the teams you said out recruited us?

Isn't it funny, how some folks scatter like roaches during a certain result; yet feel the need to make their annoying presence shine, like the morning sun, when you have a bad fucking hangover if it's the other way round?

I made the same point last week. It's unbelievable

Excellent post. I feel the same way. Our next game against RU is VERY important, as we have to continue to get better. We needs to play like we played in the second half, and continue to build on momentum. I expect Cash to have a better game, as his conditioning should be better after being off for the past 6 days. Guys are now starting to understand their roles on the team, and JJ knows that he is again going to be the energy guy off the bench, a role he is comfortable in.
