Kyle is our leading scorer, I'm not sure what advantage taking him off the floor gives us? Maybe against a bad match-up for him, like Taco fall, it makes sense. Kyle is also good at hitting the mid range shot so I think there's a lot we could do to get him open for more of those shots.

Wasn't Kyle's specialty coming in supposed to be the baseline jumper? Has he even shot one baseline jumper this season?

He shot a baseline jumper a few games ago when we failed to utilize the 2 for 1. It was from 18 feet. He missed it. It was a bad end to the half.

The team hits shots at home and they don't on the road. To me it's about hitting shots vs not hitting shots regardless of home or road.

We live and die by the 3 as a team. What I'm looking for out of our staff is a way to score at a better clip even when the 3's aren't falling. Listening to our fans constantly chirp about "wide open shots" gets old after a while. You can't expect our players to knock down 3's at a 40% clip game after game after game, especially given the talent on our roster.

We live and die by the 3?? Washington and Clark are a huge part of our offense. We have not lived by the 3 but when teams double our post we need to knock down some shots. Something we didn't do enough of yesterday.

No one is saying Caupain needs to be benched. No one is saying Caupain needs to be benched. No one is saying Caupain needs to be benched. They played together yesterday, they could've again some in the 2nd half. Both of them. Not Jenifer for Caupain. But have Jenifer running the point.

We were on a 75.5 point pace when Jenifer was in.

We were on a 41.3 point pace when Jenifer was out.

How can you defend him not even getting in for a second in the 2nd half?
i never said he should be benched. You are basing your assumption of a very small sample. He is one of our best players. I want him on the floor. Fact is jske if we are going to advance he needs to play well. Using your rational why wouldn't you play JJ more then TC. Why would you say push him to the 2. TC was 1-9 yesterday. So your opinion is we would have shot better if JJ would have been in the game.

A weird thing I notice...

Why does it take so long to get the ball in after they make a shot? So many times yesterday the camera would be on everyone already down the floor and set up, but Caupain is nowhere to be seen on the screen and the shot clock is not moving. Wtf is going on back there? So many times I see the ball bouncing at Caupain's feet as everyone heads down the floor. Do we not have a guy to throw it in? Why not? And if they aren't pressing, why can't Caupain just grab it and throw it in and get it back? It is so weird. Somehow when Jenifer is in though, he manages to have in across halfcout in 4 or 5 seconds and even grabbed a couple boards and beat everyone else on our team down the court. That's more what I expect from a PG. Caupain just seems to lack that instinct. He is way too ok just letting the game pass us by. His lack of urgency effects the entire team sometimes I think. He's the SR leader and tone-setter PG...he needs to play like his career is winding down. We said he couldn't have another awful game after SMU...but a couple games later, here we are again.

True, but 55 would have also won us the game. I get the point though, 55 won't cut it in March, that is for sure.

Teams are packing the paint daring us to shoot 3's and doubling our post players. We have to make a higher % of 3's or...OR JUST MAYBE...we can run a little bit so we can TRY TO get short shots off before the D sets up?

If we don't have guards who want to push the pace...maybe we need to bring in some guys that do for at least a portion of the game. We have to rebound well on the other end of course to push it.

It's very rare to see Caupain take an outlet pass and immediately pass the ball up the court to guys who are already sprinting up court...let alone take off dribbling like a bat out of hell. If we could just get 5 more "easier" shots off each game by pushing the ball...it would help a lot. I know one guy who does this almost every chance he gets. I would prefer that guy be Caupain but it's not...and the coach can't seem to get him to do it even with a significant amount of prodding.

Our offense had more flow when Jenifer was in yesterday. It was the only stretch where we looked decent. He never saw the floor again. I think that was a mistake. Doesn't mean anything moving forward, but it was very clear in the game yesterday imo.

44% of our FG attempts yesterday were 3's. Seems we only play well when the 3's are falling and we struggle when they're not.

Watching Memphis the other day in the second half...they were pushing the pace on us and scoring because we were not set up on D yet. If it wasn't there they backed it out and ran an offense.

If we aren't up by a significant amount we should be trying this philosophy on the road. We should only walk the ball up when we are up and want to run time off.

How do we expect to shoot well against a good/great half court D if we don't try to beat that D down the court?

Don't see it Jake.

I agree, they really needed to push the pace yesterday to limit Taco on defense.

Come on NTS. Look I share your view that he should pass the ball better but there are games were he is a big advantage for the cats.

Washington is frustrating but I think we need him to win. He is one of the few that can get a bucket when we need it

I think they wanted to but they were being out rebounded.

It's a problem most of the time. You can see Cronin yelling in many games to get the ball moving up the court. If I had a player who refused to push the ball I would just take him out for a while and put in someone who did. That should be enough to get the point across. If you don't take him out...he doesn't learn any valuable lessons.

I want Troy in the game but not at all cost. Cronin has taken Kyle out of the game many times when he wasn't doing what he was told...but Caupain seems to have little to no leash. I get that Cronin trusts Troy...but there is one thing that Troy hasn't been listening to IMO.

Agreed! I would like to see him get 1-2 assists per game but outside of that I want him being aggressive (outside of yesterday). I would like to see the post up...kick back out...post up again move more often but we are nit picking here.

He's a 50-50 chance at a bucket when he makes a move and I'm not sure we can get too much better than that with him assisting others. Clark does a good job of passing...but again...he is a 50-50 chance at a bucket too so I would rather not see it unless we have a wide open guy in good position to shoot. We need to be aggressive down low to get the other team in foul trouble and I will take 50-50 chances otherwise.

Not going to speculate on how coach handles his players. Do not nearly have enough info to give a opinion on that subject.

I have known for almost 4 years TC is not fleet of foot and will not be effective leading the break. He is not now or ever will be that kind of player. Tune in next year with Broome to see that style of play. My guess is at times we will all miss the slow deliberate style TC has provided us for his career.
