The guys who were talking about Washington needing to hit a couple outside shots, couldn't agree more. Going right at the big man isn't a strategy that really applies when the guy is 7'6" I don't think. We'll just end up missing 2 point shots if we're obsessed with attacking him. The 3s from our big guys though can move him from his cozy spot right by the hoop.
keys for me are

1. Jarron hitting some shots behind the arc.

2. Getting some buckets in transition.JJ and Cane take care of the ball and push the pace at every opportunity.

3. I think Evans pull up game plays well here

4. Kyle and Gary have both shown the ability to knock down 3's on occasion this would help.

5. If we get a early foul on Taco. I challenge him early and often looking for that 2nd foul.

Cumberland definitely needs to be ready to shoot.

took kansas an entire half last night to realize not to run into the shot blocker. once they figured that out the game turned.

We struggled to score against them last year, but this year's team seems to have much more offensive potential. If they shoot halfway decent from 10-15 feet and make some 3's it should be a 10+ point victory. Speed them up and force mistakes.

Exactly. Perfect example. Maybe even more so for Fall bc of his wingspan. That Konate dude for West Va just explodes off the floor though.

Has anyone checked to see if Taco is foul prone? I really don't think he has been. At least when we have played them he has not.

He has fouled out of a few games this year. Only averages about 21 min a game. Doesn't shoot FT's well and TO the ball quite often.

Tonight will be fun to see how Cane handles UCF. Anytime you play @Temple and @UCF they are always ugly games that you just want to come out with a win no matter how hard it is to watch. It's one of those wins that you don't go around bragging but you know it's usually a rock fight and you just are happy you won. Win and move on. Cane brings a different element to the Bearcats so I hope to see a different type of game because of him. Maybe it wont feel as ugly as it normally does. We didn't get to see what he could have done during Temple so here's his chance.

Last year in our loss at UCF Gary and Kyle were less then good. Jarron and Jacob had very good games and we lost.

Gary struggled in both our games vs them. Kyle did alright in the home game.

definitely a game we need to win with the guards. hopefully we deviate from our usual early game strat of throwing it to the post every possession.

Kyle played much more then alright. He was great.
14 points, 11 boards, 2 3’s, 4 steals, 2 blocks , 1 TO and only 2 fouls

We get that again from him, and we win. That’s a Gary Clark type stats stuffing performance

If you don't throw it into the post in our half court sets you won't be getting many good looks on the perimeter. Now if we are able to hit the defensive glass and push the pace that would certainly help us. But in half court Gary and Kyle are going to have to pose a threat to open up the wings.
