UConn @ Cats

Remember when everyone was going after me for defending Mick's decision to start Guyn?!? THAT'S WHY HE STARTS

Caupain hasn't played well since that brief second half stretch against Temple. Guyn has been coming on each game getting better and better. He also hits so many timely shots.

Guyn: 7 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals tonight. Clutch game from him.

Grinning from ear to ear after that win. What a physical game, Cats really took the bull by the horn in the 2nd half. They would not be denied.

Senior leadership is not dead in college hoops. That is a Bearcat advantage in these games and hopefully the ones next month.

Omg omg!!! I am just blown away the toughness we have. Omg. Everyone just played tough as he*l. I loved how GG played. Defense was spectacular.

Totally agree. SK is creating an All American resume and was a star tonight. GG hit a huge one as the shot clock was running out, muscled his way on another drive, and played great defense. JL was rusty but it was great to see him moving well.

Was Shaq hurt? Mick pulled him right after a great play on offense early in the 2nd half and I don't recall seeing him go back in.

u got start guyn cupain is the sexy pick but guyn is better defender by far and cupain as smart as he plays is a really young freshman and it shows. in saying that cupain will be the better player when all is said and done and hes a nice spark off the bench when we need buckets and besides i think cronin has shown he knows what the hell hes doing anyway.

GG is playing clutch and stepping up.

I've change my opinion and now like seeing him on the floor more than Caupain. But super excited for Caupian's future!!!

I still prefer our offense with Shaq in versus Sanders. Nice FT at the end, but Sanders game was brutally bad. Exposed on defense and off on his shot. When he isn't hitting open 3's set up by others, he doesn't add much.

Yep, have to give a lot of credit to Guyn. Glad to see him step up. He might even hold on to his starting job next season, although he'll likely share the backcourt with Caupain. Nothing wrong with having 2 capable point guards, that's for sure.

I really have no idea why Shaq sat almost the entire 2nd half, unless he was hurt.

And JL showed his value by hitting the boards. Came up short tonight because of being rusty but he kept some balls alive.

He had a few huge brain farts on defense...maybe mick sending a message. Of course UCONN was well coached and took Sanders to the hole everytime he switched off on a guard. He couldn't handle them

The point people are missing is that when one player is down another steps up. It was Caupain for Guyn, now Guyn for Caupain. It was Sanders for Thomas then Thomas was playing well. I thought tonight when Rubles and JJ were in foul trouble Lawrence gave them solid minutes. This team picks each other up. It is a team and people play their roles and step up when needed.

It's hard to expect a win when you get down by 10 going against a good offense and our team having an average offense at best.

But we came back. Our veterans made plays.

WOW!!! I was pretty sure I was sold after the UM game, then I thought I was re-sold with the UL win, now I am finally 100% sold after the UCONN game.

They (UCONN) had so many offensive weapons I don't know how we shut them down. What a defensive effort we put on tonight...maybe the D effort of the year.

Did Kilpatrick even come out of the game today? I don't think he did. Kevin Johnson didn't play and Caupain played poorly. The freshman are having a bit of a rough stretch but they'll be valuable the rest of the season.

That is a tough game for the freshman to come in to. Playing against Napier and Boatwright is a tough take. I honestly forgot how obnoxious Napier is. He fakes everything and his cry baby antics are tiring. GG played out of his mind on defense.

26 points...12 boards...6 assists.

Un freaking real

But he's not a big game player in case you didn't know

I also was impressed with how well JL hustled. He was diving and getting on the floor. That was good to see considering it was his first game back.
