I don't think I've seen so many turnovers by shot clock violation. I think UConn had 4?! Kudos to UC for stepping up their D.

Gotta love Cobb. He didn't have his best shooting night but he took his opportunities. Also had 6 boards and caused that jump ball down low.

Johnson led the team with 4 assists in 16 minutes. Made a very smart play to pass up a shot to drive, then found Evans for a 3.

Thank god a break finally went UC's way. Though I would have killed Ellis if he had given up another offensive rebound to lose the game. UC had four players under the basket and UConn's one player got the board. Luckily they missed a put back.

HUGE for Johnson to come in when Caupain was struggling. Played much better on defense in the second half and cut down on the turnovers. If this team can continue improving their handling of the ball and defending the 3-pt line, could make a serious run.

I agree. Also, how big were some of Cobb's shots? He had some real big ones to keep us in it.

I rewatched some plays. How in the world was Evans steel, layup at the end not called an And1?! Clear as day he got mugged. So tired of these refs and their terrible biased inconsistencies.

Final two scores were by a freshman and a sophomore. Pretty good stuff. If Shaq is out an extended time, Evans is going to need to really step up. We will also probably see a ton more 3 guard sets. Maybe Jenifer even gets some minutes.

Speaking of Caupains struggles I noticed on most of his misses his feet are staggered not square anybody else notice this?

Agree about Jenifer. For what it's worth, Mick said he needs to get Jenifer in the game the first half. He doesn't want him coming in cold in the 2nd half.

Now mind you, Mick has said this almost every game on the post game radio show lol. But still..

Since the start of the 2010-11 season, the UC/UConn rivalry is dead even at 7 wins apiece. Total score? 850-847. That's a rivalry.

I believe UConn leads the point total. Crazy stat.

Extremely frustrating especially when Purvis gets an and 1 with Evans backing out of contact on a break earlier in the game.

If that were UC they would never ever get that call home or on road

Today, I said no excuses....just win....and that is just what they did. Very happy for the team. Run the table now....10-0. I feel very bad for Shaq. I've been one of his biggest supporters in here all season. So impressed with how nice a kid he is. I pray that he is ok. He has been big lately and has had a very solid season. I hope he is back soon and gets to finish his career as an active player. He has always handled himself with a lot of class and he is a great representative of our university.

I thought they outplayed UConn by way more than a point. 2nd Half was really all Bearcats. It's a make or miss game and UConn stayed in the game with transition and hitting some really tough shots.

Our guys, I felt, executed offensively in the 2nd Half at a very high level. Dribble drives, working inside out, great diagonal passing and interior passing. For whatever reason, they couldn't finish the easy layups and dunks, and missed quite a few wide open looks from outside on good passing. 58 points with 12 assists could have easily been 70 points on 18 assists. Give some credit to UConn's interior D but I thought our guys executed very well.

Jacob is very good at the rim. Sometimes he's too content to settle for an 18 footer when an 8 footer has presented itself. Happened at least once tonight.

DeBerry is probably disappointed in himself tonight. Could have been a big night for him but he passed up on good looks with his man sealed and fumbled a pass on a very good dive to the rim. We will need him in the rematch.

Glad they made some plays down the stretch and gutted it out. How frustating it must have been to outplay a team by so much and struggle to finish down the stretch. They could've hung their heads and didn't. A big mental boost hopefully.

Get better Shaq. We need you for those faster paced games buddy!

Right on L-T. This kid deserves to go out on his own accord. Hopefully he gets a good diagnosis

True toughness last night. Cronin always preaches about you cant control if you are missing shots, just gotta keep playing defense and tough. Evans misses a wide open 3 then comes down, gets a steal, and finished - with what should have been an and 1. All together I felt we deserved that win, glad it actually happened. It's making today at work a little easier :).

Praying for you shaq
