The only shot i can think of that hurt more is miles simion full court heave for Arizona in the 7 up rock n roll shootout i belive.

That was one of the first UC games I really remember being old enough to understand and get upset about. I believe we had a double digit lead in the 1st half of that game too.

Wow. Great game. I was working so will have to watch it when I have recovered. I saw the double and triple OT including the 2/3 court shot by UConn. Add this to the WV long shot, Kmart broken leg, McNamara 3 etc. Etc. Oh well. If I cut myaelf my blood comes out red and black, and that will never change.

Wow, can't tell if actual trolling going on here but I'll bite.

Does nobody else see that video? Objective proof the guy fell asleep on the buzzer because he thought it was over too?

You can't unsee it in the TV replays. When you know the problem it sticks out every time. Maybe my eyes are lying to my brain but IDK I'm angry, know being angry doesn't matter because the NCAA doesn't give a shit about anything ever, and have nothing to be angry at.

What a shit show.

So nice I can come here and commiserate with people who also bleed red and black.hopefully we get in and win 1-2 and i can get this horrible taste out of my mouth. I hope they can Bounce back.

Sad days. We lost both years in 7 up shootout I believe. We really fought back that game.

Did anyone else go from pure elation to suicide watch in .08 seconds?

Yes. Honestly was an identical situation to the Bengals playoff loss this year.we intercepted it, I was cheering my ass off. Seconds later, Hill fumbles and I'm like WTF. Today was a little worse.

I don't care what anyone says about Cronin and his post game. He was right and good for him for calling it for what it is. That shot was no good. Period.

Also, cheers to Jacob for noticing how Troy got drilled at the end of OT2. The guy plowed right into him and he knew he was caught. No whistle. Should have been called. Period.

Also, how about Brihma straight stiff arming KJ on the missed ft? Even the UConn biased ESPN commentators said that was a foul. Should have been 2 ft's. Period. I could go on but don't want to be labeled as whining. Even though those are facts!!

+1 on everything you just said. The Bengals...ugh.

That article also hinted that he traveled before the shot.

So it appeared to me he traveled. It appeared to me the clock didn't start. It appeared to me UC got hosed big time which is a shame since the refs actually looked at the replay. I'm not a big mick fan, but this is not his normal whining.... This is a legit issue that has video backup.

Sucks.

Seriously! Caupain had to take a blow, re-orient himself, then spin through a double team to get the shot off. It's not his fault that UConn can't cut off the sideline. If that guy wanted to beat him to the spot, then he should've beat him to the spot...but he didn't. That's a foul all day in the 1st half. Say what you want about the situation, but out of position defenders shouldn't be the ones getting bailed out.

I remember Huggs saying after the Jarrod West shot in the UC-WVa tourney game "I don't mind getting beat, but you don't want to lose on a throw". It galls me to hear about how some kid heaving a 60 footer in is some kind of testament to UConn's tourney moxie or a platitude to "clutch". Call it what it was: a 1 in 10,000 shot aided by the clock operator and officials too afraid to do the right thing and go against the UConn narrative.

Hard not to feel snakebitten. I wasn't watching the game quite yet but texting with my brother, he told me the game was still on so I assumed overtime. Actually told him I expected the worst, and even said I envisioned UC with a 2 point lead and UConn heaving in some miracle 3. It's insane how often it happens.

I can count a handful of times we've either directly or indirectly lost a game involving the opposition heaving in an improbable shot that led to a buzzer beating loss or overtime loss. 1996 Arizona (Miles Simon), 1998 West Virginia (Jarrod West), 2006 Syracuse (Gerry McNamara), 2010 West Virginia (Da'Sean Butler), and Tulsa/UConn this year. 6 times in 20 years? Seriously?
