UK's Kyle Wiltjer transferring

Doesn't matter. Refer to my prior post, he will most likely end up at Gonzaga. He is good friends with Kevin Pangos (former UC recruit).

It won't matter for next year since he asked St. Johns if he could leave, but that was there roster this year, so Im just curious how they made it work.

Headed out West. Zero chance he comes to UC.

I'm fine with that, but is there still a chance that we could add someone before the season? I know we had scholarships last year, but we picked up Dave pretty late. Any chance we get someone who fits a loophole?

I dont know what loophole you are referring too but I'd say there is a 99% chance the staff is done with 2013. If you can improve the team and it's what is right for the program you do it. However this late with no scholarships it is highly unlikely.

Or people playing more than one sport is another good example. Maybe somebody could do something like track (just a random example, I know UC ditched track) and walk-on in basketball? I know that is a unique situation for sure......

You can't just start playing another sport and switch scholarships. It doesn't work that way.

Yes you can, if you are a freshman that hasn't signed a LOI. If we got someone to commit who plays both football and basketball (while it will not happen, a good example is Ja'Sean Tate) and they took the football scholarship and walked on to basketball. It's just a hypothetical, I know we won't get somebody else, just curious how we could get someone.......

This whole thread is about Wiltjer, who is not an incoming freshman. You were saying there were a whole bunch of ways to free of a scholarship for him, which there aren't. If you want to talk about incoming freshman that's a whole nother ballgame but it still isn't as easy as you suggest. If it was every basketball player would just be on a track or swimming scholarship. It doesn't work that way.

Wiltjer isn't going to happen. I mentioned it because I saw it on the Enquirer website and just thought Id mention it. It's not a prediction, I was just throwing something out there because it's the offseason and there is nothing going on. I guarantee there has to be some way around the rules, St. John's found it. It's not impossible to add another player, and while there's a 99% chance we are finished with this year, why not mention all possibilities? Gives us something to talk about..........
