The thing I took away from this game was that rebounding and blocking shots is contagious with this team. There are four legit options in the 4 and 5 spots with Rubles, Jackson, Mbodj, and Nyarsuk (5 if you want to throw Gaines in). What you saw from those guys was an urgency to grab every reboud and block every shot possible. Why? Because if they didn't, the next guy would. This type of competition will only help this team. I was really impressed with the rebounding from outside one's own zone. There were several times I saw each of these guys come flying in for a rebound when their guy wasn't even remotely close. It was a great thing to see.

The Legend can...

Its a ring he got for winning an NCAA tournament game I believe.

Really? That's crazy I didn't realize they made those for that. It looks like he was making sure everyone saw it too which I like haha. Hopefully he can replace that ring with a national championship ring soon!

One thing I took away was that Nyarsuk runs the floor like a baby giraffe, hopefully the strength and conditioning coach can help him fill into his frame. He played with good intensity and had a few nice jams off of alley-oops. Rubles can do it all-not great at any one thing, just solid in almost every category. Really like what he brings to the table. The starting guards played really well as usual and JJ looked a little lost and turnover-prone. That is to be expected, though, as it was his first game this year. Sanders still looked lost also. Guyn has definitely improved and added some muscle/filled out a little. JD111 continued to look better and Shaq still looks like he is adjusting to the college game. And finally, Cheikh looks like a different player. Perfect size now and plays with a great motor, just needs to keep grabbing boards.

It was a good game to get guys experience. Nobody played over 24 minutes. Cash scored his 16 points in only 19 minutes. Sean I believe only played 23 minutes, JP 21, so that's your 3 best players on the court for only 63 game minutes. JD3 looked really good shooting. Sanders had 3 assists. Rubles 8 and 7 in only 16 minutes. You could go down the list. I thought Mick did a good job getting reserves minutes. It is all about bench building and giving guys time on the court together. 13 turnovers between Jackson, Cash, Killa and JP bothered me though. That and ft shooting.

Yeah, turnovers bugged me too, but I bet/it felt like JJ had at least half of those.

This is going to be a fun season. The depth, athleticism, and experience will get them far. A deep run in possible with the right matchups...

5 I think.

Dang, that's it? Being at the game, it felt like even more. I'm not worried, he will come back into his own soon enough. Saw him at DSL and looked better offensively. While it is only DSL and needs to be taken with a grain of salt, he hit every shot he took and drove to the rim without losing the handle. Needs to make smarter passes, not a huge fan of him catching the ball up top and doing lots of dribbling. My prediction for him tonight is a much better game, now that he shook off the rust.
