But seriously, I'm not trying to get a recruiting debate here bc that is what it is. It comes down to coaching and teaching our players how the gain position, do fundamental basketball plays. I don't see any improvement here. I'm getting really frustrated that a team with big men finally and none of them can get position and post up. On top of that, our guards don't know how to make an entry pass.

I haven't seen much of any improvement on offense since game 1. That has nothing to do with recruiting that has something to do with coaching and players.

I just don't understand.
Practice practice practice

When I see Shaq and Kevin Johnson get introduced as 40% of our starters, my confidence in a win drops substantially.

Where did Jermaine Sander's shot go? Without a shot, there's no reason to have him on the floor.

He is right at his career average. Frankly he just isn't a great shooter. He is an okay shooter with an extremely slow release.

He tries to push the ball in and gets that weird action with his legs. Not a smooth looking shot for a 4th year sharpshooter.

L-T how many times can we state the obvious. Maybe it's why they stress defense and rebounding? It's amazing to me that a shooter of some consistency hasn't been found or landed. It is the glaring hole in Mick's recruiting. Cash is likely the closest thing we've had and he was streaky too.

There are shooters everywhere. I've watched many teams who seem to have 4 or 5 good shooters. Division II Bellarmine has 1 guy over 50% from 3, 5 more over 40%, and 2 more over 35%. They scored 79 points against our defense. I saw them. They are legit. Mick has recruited nobody that I would consider a legit 3 point threat. The best we can do is guys who are streaky and inconsistent. How many guys have we had who could stop on a dime and just consistently drain it? The answer is zero under Mick. How can the guy continue to just get a free pass on this? It is the single thing holding us back.

We all know why Mick doesn't get shooters.

The SG and SF spots on this roster are simply subpar. Caupain and Cobb at pg aren't much better. I'm usually a very optimistic Bearcat fan, but I haven't seen anything yet to change my views on this team.

Don't spend anytime practicing passing. Need to stop getting the 3rd or 4th best player on their high school teams also. Start recruiting the best player only on championship caliber high school teams no matter how fast they can run or jump.

Enjoy your team with 0 players on it then

Caupain, Moore, Clark, Shaq, Johnson, and Sanders were the best players on their high school teams. Maybe the quality of those teams could be debated though.
