Holy hell, if you read this thread without looking at the score you would think they lost. Shits getting crazy on here and pray that no recruit stumbles upon this site.

Wow this board has become painful to read. And now Bulldog has resurfaced making it even worse. Someone reading this board with no context would think we were 3-8. It takes time for young teams to put it together. Hell last year's team got smoked by New Mexico and Xavier, then won 15 in a row. Be patient; I don't understand why so many fans must live game to game on whether the team is great or awful. It is a process. The realistic goal preseason was to make the tournament with this young team. That is still very attainable. Let them develop.

In response to why they are having problems with passing into the post, the problem is threefold. The guards take bad angles. They're not "on the wing enough" to make a solid entry pass, for want of a better phrase. And the big men do 2 things wrong---they do not post up hard and make themselves wide and they don't post up long enough. It seems like they're coached to post and if the ball is not delivered immediately, they go out and screen the ball. And for the love of God why haven'
t they played a 2 man game with Cobb and Clark rather than Shaq?

Having him in the rotation certainly wouldn't hurt.

Guyn is 35% FG, 29% 3s, 63% FT in his career. 5 double figure scoring games out of 102 games played. His experience would help but another guy scoring 3-5 points in 20 minutes isn't enough to make much of a difference imo.

Edit- Guyn's career games in double figures are against Chicago State (2), Northwestern State, UMass-Lowell, and South Carolina Upstate.

Oh I'm weeping. Fire NTS I knew we should have gone with L-T a bit crass but has been around long enough to get the system. JumpinJack5 off the bench also looks pretty good to me, hell I would walk on with that team.

Some people have the patience of a 3 year old. It is what it is. I am at the end of the rope in terms of patience with lack of offense under Cronin (it's been long enough). I understand those who complain about that issue.

I am not even close to at the end of my rope for patience for this particular team. There is no way on Earth they are this bad at shooting...I am convinced it's mostly mental at this point. I know some of these guys can play better than they are.

These are two completely different issues that it seems many people are having a hard time separating. I may end up being very disappointed with this group of players in the long run...but right now they need our support and running them down serves no purpose (IMO).

I'll join the team playing against Wagner. 6'2" wing player who can knock down the 3. Limited athletically, but plays hard and is still young enough to get up and down the floor.

I'm happy that this team compares favorably with past Cronin teams in terms of effort and defense, because we would be in real trouble if we didn't. Offensively, I think our coaching staff needs to go outside the box and find creative ways to manufacture scoring. Play "small ball" like they do in baseball, if you will.

Morman is a very good free throw shooter -- when we get in the bonus, get him in the game and tell him to be very aggressive penetrating, force the issue and get some free throws. Ellis and Clark are very skilled and willing passers. Isolate those 2 and let them play some high-low, wing-post action. Our guards won't give them the ball, so let them run offense with each other. Get Shaq more iso sets and let him try to take his man one-on-one. Run more plays specifically designed to get Sanders, Cobb, and Johnson open 3-point looks. Not saying we should give up on our offense altogether, but we have some strengths I would like to see us play to a little more often.

Don't spend anytime practicing passing. Need to stop getting the 3rd or 4th best player on their high school teams also. Start recruiting the best player only on championship caliber high school teams no matter how fast they can run or jump.

Name one player on our team who was only the third or fourth best player on his high school team. A good number of our recruits finish with high accolades in their respective states, being named higher than the third or fourth best player in the state and most of our recruits do make it deep into their state tourneys. This is just a ridiculous statement.

A report just came in that Santa was just spotted over the Grand Canyon and heading east maybe I can catch a ride if this team needs a water boy. LOL Merry Christmas to the whole Bearcat Nation.
