Welcome Mick back to the imaginary hot seat

Mick's teams cannot handle success and that is all on the coach. They have no business sniffing the top 25 again and if they do, they'll surely lose the next game. It is extremely frustrating.

This team cant even handle a 15 point lead. They surely find ways to let them dwindle away.

Cash Wright was 2-10 from the field, maybe it is all Cash's fault.

Mick needs to find some way to coach these guys into thinking they are underdogs or it will be another NIT bid. Its pretty sad that its that simple, they cannot handle any sort of success.

There are certain traits that players take from their coach and feed off of. Right now, Mick is not connecting and his players are not buying into his philosophy. Is that not part of coaching?

We are not UConn, I dont care what they did or didnt do. Jim Calhoun has had previous success to support his coaching. Mick hasnt.

Mick coached UC to 26 wins and a NCAA Tourney win over Missouri last season. Mick has done one of the greatest rebuilding jobs in the history of college basketball, taking a program totally destroyed by Bob Huggins to the NCAA Tourney in 5 short years. At Murray State Mick coached them to 2 NCAA Tourneys in 3 years. Mick is Mr. Successful.

In year 6 Mick has taken UC to one NCAA tournament. If your satisfied with that you have the competitiveness of a 3 yr old girl.

Nope, but dissatisfaction with the current record doesn't equate to a hot seat, imaginary or no.

I have no words to describe how overreactionary several of you are. In fact, it's probably more apt to call you opportunistic. You internalize none of the positive evidence for this coach over the past five years and remain largely quiet as wins pile up, but at the first hint of trouble you act as if he has done nothing positive and come out of the woodwork for criticism. If Mick's accomplishments over the course of his tenure here were a financial ledger, he would still be so far in the black it's almost unreal. And if you can't see that in the moments after a loss I understand, but if you can't take a step back and look at it logically the next day, you just don't want to.

My posts are no where near an overreaction. Their an accumulation of his 6 years here.

I have posted it since Mick was hired. Mick started to win me over last season. He follows it up with this debacle.

I have always stated Mick cant coach offense. Mick cant motivate. These two losses just back that up.

And im here win or lose. No hiding here. Not sure about that statement.

What positives in the past 5 years?
-Building back a program? ... is the program built back!? 1 NCAA tournament isnt a built program
-..?
-..?

Quit dwelling on last season. Mick had a great opportunity to take this city over. Bring back the Cats of old and create a buz in this city. The excuses of him taking over a disfunctional program was now 6 seasons ago. No more excuses, Mick. And dont tell me the reason is because the players are lazy. Take some blame

You both seem to not understand that rebuilding a program in 6 years is phenomenal. How's SMU doing?

I know this isn't going to change your mind, so I honestly don't know why I'm writing this. And I honestly don't know why you 2 are still fans. If it pains you so much to care about this team, and you think they're headed in the wrong direction with the wrong man at the helm, then it might be best for you to emotionally divest until things change. It's just sports; not worth the distress.

You are in the minority. Look around you, look at attendance.

Dont question my fanhood either. Who are you??

TLL, after Bob Huggins destroys your basketball program on the court and academically (APR jail) , you have to start with no players and play in the Big East, only taking 5 years to get to the NCAA Tourney is performing a major miracle.

Ha this is humorous.

I dont get why some get so worked up over this. Im just stating simple things.
- UC offense has not been good.
- UC effort has not been good
- UC has two terrible losses
- UC is not very good right now

Hopefully Mick turns it around, but untill then questioning him is perfectly fair. Remember this was the year of no excuses. year 6.
