You know Cobb is only shooting 33% from the floor on the season. If you take out his 2 decent games, that drops down to 24%. That just won't cut it.

If you take anyone's 2 best games out of 10 total games, sure the numbers will drop. Especially when most are playing their first D1 game or first D1 game in new system.

Of course. But 24% in 8 games is extremely poor. 33% in 10 games is very bad. He was good in 2 games though, absolutely no denying that. We need more of it.

If you throw out his worst two games (5 shots or more) he is closer to 40%. Those appear to be outliers as well:)

However, the whole team is out of rhythm. To me he shows the most promise as of right now and he doesn't seem to be afraid to take a big shot.

PG position is fine. SG and SF are not fine.
you sure we are watching the same team. When was the last time you seen our PG break the defense down and dish to the open man. Lead a fast break.

Do you play basketball? Have you ever had someone hit you with a pass at the right time in the right spot which allowed you to get your shot off all in perfect rythm. If you have you would know what I'm saying. Our SG and SF are struggling but they could be helped with better PG play. Not trying to be to critical of Cobb or TC. Even Guyn was not a true PG when he got here. It's tough to learn at this level.

I agree with you about Jennifer and it's also why I'd rather see Cobb at the point. Caupain's only real move to get a shot off when the clock winds down is to put his shoulder down and drive and get fouled (hopefully). It works pretty well for him since he has good size. However, Cobb has shown the ability to keep the defense guessing because he is quick and shifty. He can make a long jumper, a running floater, or even a drive and step back J. He also has shown the guts to want to have the ball in his hands in big moments. I think his ball handling is better as well...because his dribble is much lower which allows him to change direction faster.
all those things you mentioned are true but a PG makes others better first and gets his second. Watch some video of Jennifer. You'll see what I mean. Guy gets lay ups and dunks for his teammates and open jump shots in rythm for his wings.

He does seem to show the most promise out of the SG/SF group, which is why we need him to be solid almost every night. Might not be fair to him, but that's the way it is.

I know he has 22 assists in the last 4 games. He must be dishing to somebody.

I think Troy can play better, but he's not even close to one of our major problems.

Because they appear to be outliers at this point. His other 8 games he's 12/50. That's a big problem for this team.

But 33% for the season is really bad too.

I think Cobb has to be in our top 5 guys, I just want him to play better.
you don't thnk his shot is being effected by having to facilitate the offense as well as find a open spot. Don't fall in love with the fact he has made a couple of drives to the hoop or hit a few jumpers. If he is running the point look to see how many easy buckets has he gotten for his team.

handling the ball as much as he does will get him a few assist but over all the offense runs through the point. The way you defend a shooter is get him out of rythm. pG job is to dish and get guys in that rythm.not saying we couldn't shoot better but it would help tremendously if our Point guards were able to deliver the ball much better.

I agree with you. I've seen his passing and dribbling skills. I like the way he operates. As long as he can shoot a little he seems like a perfect fit on offense and fast breaks etc.

In the AAU circuit over the summer Jenifer put up...
21 games played
7.4 ppg
52-139 from the floor for 37.4%
44-79 on FT for 55.7%
8-36 on 3s for 22.2%

Don't hold your breath on the shooting part.

Troy is a talented player he is a average at best PG. He is much more a combo guard then point guard. On this team he has to run point.

much more interested in how he pushes tempo and delivers the ball. Am a bit surprised his foul shooting is so low.
